Description
Somewhere in Tokyo—Fujimura.
The wail of police sirens echoes through the night-lit streets of the business district.
The man being arrested is Daichi Okuyama, the young president of a rising investment bank.
The charge? The murder of his wife and daughter.
In his solitary cell, he begins to piece things together.
“What the hell is this? I killed my wife and daughter?
Someone’s framing me… but who? And why?”
Then it hits him.
Just before his arrest, he was working on a major project—
investing in the development of a new drug to treat Type D influenza.
If successful, it would threaten the market dominance of the current treatment, “Tamivir.”
So, it had to be someone connected to Oogai Pharmaceuticals, the company behind Tamivir.
The masterminds are likely three people:
Takao Fujimura, president of Marcus Henry Investments, which funds Oogai Pharmaceuticals.
Hiroshi Kouno, director of Touyoko Science University Hospital and a co-developer of Tamivir.
Genzo Sasaki, a powerful politician who pushed for Tamivir’s approval.
