A mermaid in a well that showed up in Rosetta's backyard one day.
For some reason, she really wants Rosetta to become friends with her.

[spoiler]Galatea as a mermaid isn't actually real. The mermaid is actually a vessel Pygmalion made to try and lure Rosetta to being consumed by him, as he had done with the actual Galatea.

Her last name is Andilet.[/spoiler]

He lures potential victims by pretending to be a merperson trapped in a well, before proceeding to consume them and fashion their remains into a new vessel.

The fact that this well didn't previously exist there is one thing, but then strange noises start coming from within it, which prompts Rosetta to investigate.

Out comes a mysterious mermaid, Galatea of the Well, who appears to be particularly interested in getting acquainted with her.
