The protagonist of Lovewood is named Quince by default if no other name is entered. While the name and pronouns can be chosen, some other characteristics about them are set in stone.

They are a healer who freshly moves to the town of Liebwald in the beginning of the game, trying to start a life of their own. Their magical talents are healing physical injuries and creating light. They are a little socially anxious and draw and paint in their free time, and they are rather knowledgable in botany as well.
They have not been in a romantic relationship before the beginning of the game, and it is suggested that they are in their early twenties.

Most of their physical traits are hidden underneath their outfit, but their bear ears and the blonde tufft of hair is usually visible as poking out from underneath their hood.

In Frightwood, the teen protagonist is explicitly called Janus, and it is suggested that he is going to become a version of the Lovewood protagonist later on, sharing all physical characteristics and skills.

Aleth is the fifth romance option in Lovewood. They are the travelling merchant who frequently stops by Liebwald and is a good friend of Kaileen.
Aleth has a curse that makes it impossible for them to speak out true statements, instead talking in a lie whenever they try. This curse was a result of an alchemy accident, and they get around it by speaking mainly through written text on a portable chalkboard, paraphrasing their sentences as questions, using sarcasm or using the occasional BSL sign as shorthand in conversations.

Blossom is the third romance option in Lovewood. 
She is a farmer in the town of Liebwald, living next-door to the protagonist. She is shown to have a long-lasting friendship with Moth, the tailor, and takes a lot of pride in her wool bunnies.

Moth is the tailor in the town of Liebwald and the fourth romance option in the game. He takes a lot of pride in his craft and is shown to be quite a perfectionist. The animal parts of his appearance are based on the cross fox, a colour variation of the red fox.

Join a group of fairy teens in their attempt to discover a grand treasure - one that can only be earned during the night of Halloween. Explore the mystical forest, and find out if the claims are true, or merely a mischievous trap.

This story is a prequel to Lovewood, featuring the younger versions of some of the characters. Knowledge about Lovewood isn't neccessary to play Frightwood and understand its story.
