Nightmare×Onmyoji～禁断のパラドックス～

A first-year high school, school librarian and apprentice Onmyouji. Outside of class, she's either busy with her librarian duties or assists her father during exorcism commissions. Because of this, she's perpetually turning down invitations to hang out with her classmates. 

She's been trained by her father in the Onmyouji arts of exorcism from a young age. She also consumes a draught of traditional Chinese medicine regularly on her father's orders, ostensibly to regulate her abilities. 

[Spoiler] The offspring of a forced union between Katsuragi Kimihiro's younger sister and a demon fox, Kimihiro freed her from the cult's clutches and raised her as his adoptive daughter. Although she should have been eliminated because of her demonic lineage, Kimihiro could not bring himself to kill his sister's child and decided to raise her as a human. The Onmyouji training and the medicine are meant to prevent her from manifesting her demon powers.

She's trained to use her talismans to summon fire to destroy evil spirits and demons. When her demonic powers awaken and she loses control, she uses lightning spells instead. The medicine she regularly imbibes is meant to shackle her innate demonic powers, not consuming it for two days coupled with repeated sexual intercourse is enough to make her lose control. Katsuragi Kuon 葛木 久遠

Setsuna's classmate and childhood friend. He learnt martial arts together with her and is arguably more skilled than she is, however he lacks the sisters' ability to harm demons. He is privy to the sisters' secret occupation as exorcists and tries to help them anyway he can. He flags up the increasing frequency of demonic possession to Setsuna and is concerned about the trouble it forebodes.

[Spoiler] After Yuuka's disappearance, he worries about the burden on Setsuna as the sole remaining exorcist in their town and eventually volunteers as an apprentice exorcist. The local priest who has watched over the sisters since they were children agrees, as the Church HQ has sent out orders that Setsuna be protected and her stubborn refusal to accept new partners allows him to assign Touma as her bodyguard.

After their first exorcism together, Touma gathers his resolve to assist Setsuna in any way he can, even if he cannot help in the actual battle against the demon. He is surprised at how draining the process is, despite being in decent physical shape himself.

When the demon cult makes its move for Setsuna, Touma is also captured despite the pair's best efforts to escape. He is then used as a bargaining chip to coerce Setsuna into deceiving her fellow classmates to serve as fellow breeding vessels. 

In the bad end, he is executed by the cult when Setsuna openly disobeys orders. In the true end he succeeds in sending out an SOS to the Church HQ. He then prepares a ruse to deceive the cult into letting him out to bring the girls in Setsuna's stead. Eventually he brings reinforcements from the Church and helps rescue the sisters.

Despite seeing what Setsuna went through and being an unwilling accessory to her ordeal, he continues to treat her as before despite his growing romantic feelings for her. [/Spoiler]

Kitakawa Touma 喜多川 冬馬

An ordinary high-school student by day, by night she is an exorcist who partners her older sister to resolve exorcism commissions assigned by the Church. She underwent martial arts training together with her childhood friend Touma. During exorcisms, her sister suppresses the demon using a combination of relics and innate spiritual ability so that Setsuna can attack the exposed demon with melee attacks enhanced by innate spiritual power.

[Spoiler] She and her sister were unexpected births in the demonic cult which had abducted their mother for use as a breeding vessel. The church managed to smuggle them out and train them as exorcists, so the cult and their leader opted to bide their time until the girls were ready to resume the role their mother had originally assumed. 

Because of the way the "vessels" are impregnated, it is very possible Setsuna and Yuuka are half-sisters. They do not look alike and have very different physical attributes.

If Setsuna loses hope after the school gang bang scene, she is taken back to the demon cult and eventually gives birth to the next generation of breeding vessles. If she vows to keep going, Touma eventually succeeds in rescuing them with help from the Church. Despite everything she and her sister went through, they vow to continue their work as exorcists. Setsuna's older sister and her surrogate mother. She works full-time as a nun in the local church while Setsuna goes to the academy for classes in the day. Before Setsuna partnered Yuuka on exorcisms, Yuuka would work alone or with other exorcists dispatched by the church. She has considerably more experience with exorcisms than Setsuna and has experienced her fair share of failures as well.

[Spoiler] Yuuka was much older than the other children in the orphanage so she acted like a big sister to everyone. Because of this, Setsuna was jealous she never got enough attention from Yuuka when they were growing up. 

She is deceived and abducted by the demon cult when she answers the exorcism commission set up by the cult. After raping and impregnating her, the cult forces her to birth demons. Because of her mother's bloodline, her pregnancy lasts for a matter of weeks and the demons she births mature at an accelerated rate. Throughout her ordeal, she never loses hope despite her submissive demeanour. 

Because she was confined for longer and was not in the same physical condition as Setsuna, she is hospitalised as a result of her exertions. In the bad end, both she and Setsuna become full-time birthing vessels for the demon cult. [/Spoiler]

Kuon's father. Descended from a long line of Onmyouji exorcists, he now runs a Shinto shrine as its priest and is a writer by profession. He accepts exorcism requests from multiple parties. He is protective of his daughter Kuon and is initially unwilling to take up the sisters' request for fear of endangering her. 

[Spoiler] Kimihiro and his sister were targeted by the cult before Kuon was born. When the latter was captured and forced to give birth to a half-demon, Kimihiro was able to save the child but not his sister. He couldn't bring himself to kill his sister's child, but her powerful lineage meant he had to watch over her as the adoptive father and prevent her demonic powers from manifesting. 

Although reluctant to take on the Shindou sisters' request for help investigating a spate of demonic-related missing persons cases, he eventually relents but falls for a trap laid by the cult soon afterwards.

In the bad ending, he is killed with his adopted daughter Kuon long past salvation. In the true ending, his petrification spell is dispelled and he returns to his family. He also comes clean regarding the circumstance of Kuon's birth. [/Spoiler]

Katsuragi Kimihiro 葛木 公弘

At first glance, the protagonist, Katsuragi Kuon, is just an ordinary schoolgirl, but, as a descendant of an onmyouji bloodline, she has another face, not an ordinary one: along with her father, Kimihiro, she banishes evil spirits.

One day, three people, who purified evil spirits in a different land, Shindou Setsuna, her sister Shindou Yuuka, and childhood friend Kitakawa Touma, came to Kuon. They asked for help with solving the case of recent disappearances in the neighborhood of this city. While Kuon and her new comrades gathered information and exorcised malicious spirits, Kimihiro went to meet his acquaintance, whom he thought to hold important information.

At that time, enemies made their move. Due to their attacks, Setsuna and Yuuka were captured by the enemies, and Kimihiro was incapacitated. Kuon, who found out about the cult, leading the demons from the shadows, strongly decided to fight to save her father and Setsuna with her sister.

Sure enough, you may already know, what awaits her at the end of her struggles...
