But the nations could not reach a consensus: some allied and formed an armed division to combat Ashley; others banked on defense, expectant the situation would turn around. Some were even scheming to gain Ashley as their ally. Chaos reigned.

In the midst of all of this, Ashley learned that the female-led empire of Gareth, located west of the Sacred Kingdom, was rapidly expanding its army.
