Being an outgoing and honest character, Chiharu is known to perform acts such as shaking the hands of all fans and staff members during events and earnestly thanking her fans. Though highly skeptical of the D.o.D, Chiharu decides to participate in it to fulfill her dream of becoming the top idol.

[spoiler]Her real name is Sakura Honjou, the only daughter of the extremely wealthy Honjou family. However, when Sakura was 6 months old, she was kidnapped by Kouji Chigasaki. Her real father, Kei Honjou, rushed to the ransom delivery without even calling the police, but he died in a car accident halfway through and couldn't deliver the ransom money. Kouji Chigasaki heard the news about that and realized he would get no Honjou money in this state. It would be dangerous to try to return the baby, so he decided to raise her as his daughter instead.[/spoiler]

Giving yourself an edge in these interactions will be important for the 'Death Concerts.'

The story focuses on the "Dream of Dream" or D.o.D. competition, which sees potential idols in a contest to take the center position in the Project 47 idol group.
