Cher poses as a temporary transferee into Jigen Academy. [spoiler]She is in fact a CIA agent from Washington DC with a mission to eradicate the dimensional invaders[/spoiler]. She immediately earns Mariko's scorn for her reckless driving.

Cher Mulligan シェール・マリガン

Mariko is a recent transferee to Jigen Academy. After her father remarried, she started to experience strange hallucinations manifesting as vines creeping on the walls and the ceiling. She has been diagnosed with a psychotic episode associated with jealousy towards her new stepmother and sent to Jigen for a supposed healing of the soul.

Kayano Mariko 萱野 真理子

The mysterious young transfer student to Jigen Academy, Ran follows his desire for revenge against the man who murdered his father and older brother. Ran is a talented psychic who is gifted in telepathy, fire manipulation, and psychometry. He forms a strange friendship with Mariko and tries to help with her psychological problems.

Ran's older brother killed seven years ago by Shougen.

Mashimo Yoku 真下 翼

Japanese-American, who used to be a teacher in the Academy. [spoiler]In reality he is a CIA agent and Cher's boyfriend[/spoiler].

Shougen is the headmaster of Jigen Academy and the one who is responsible for letting the creatures into our dimension. He murdered Ran's family thus earning his undying hate.

Kuji Shougen 久慈 将現

It is a direct sequel to "Dark Hunter: (Jou) Ijigen Gakuen" and thus the story picks up immediately after the events of the first game. Finally, the reasons why Mariko has been left untouched by the invaders are revealed, and Ran's and Cher's fight to stop the invasion is drawing to its conclusion.
