[spoiler]She's always been a quiet girl, her severe anxiety not really hitting her until puberty happened and she felt progressively more and more uncomfortable with her body. She often thinks that her status as being a transwoman is glaringly obvious to everyone as it is to her.

Really, her peers regard her as being 'that weird kid that leaves in the middle of class and threw up on a teacher that wouldn't let her leave'

She enjoys reading fashion blogs, especially those that highlight models that aren't cis. Otherwise, she buries herself in books about biology. Mostly plants.[/spoiler]

Haiden Miles is widely regarded as being friendly and outgoing by his peers. There's nothing bad you can really say about him. He's friendly? He's nice? He let you copy homework at the last minute so you didn't get yelled at??

[spoiler]Despite that, Haiden has pretty awful depression to deal with, though Naomi's the only one that knows. Aside from his parents anyway. His other friends are clueless to the suicide attempt or the antidepressants he takes.

He tends to make friends as a distraction from his own issues, though he never expected the anxiety ridden 'weird kid" to be the one to make him face that he had a problem in the first place.

He's been raised to be incredibly accepting, even if it doesn't make sense to him at first. His mother is bisexual, so he's not much of a stranger to being 'outside the box".[/spoiler]

Haiden Miles

Naomi is sixteen years old, a Japanese American with a name that's read as being far more feminine here than what her parents were going for. This wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for the fact that she was technically born a boy, even if she's never identified that way. She dresses as she likes only when she's alone, in the dead of night.

NAOMI is a short story about Naomi, her friend Haiden, and a situation that makes her heart stop.
