## Description
Harukoi Otome revolves around protagonist Akihito Hayasaka, a male high-school sophomore. The high school he attends St. Francesca Academy used to be an all-girls school, and still has a high percentage of female students. Akihito's younger sister (Umi Hayasaka) and his childhood friend (Yuika Serizawa) are also students there. Akihito meets many girls there, and becomes friends with them.

### Fuyurugi Kisaya (不動 如耶)

Going unnoticed by no one at St. Francesca Academy, Fuyurugi is the sempai everyone looks up to. She uses an archaic style of speech, and carries herself in a cool and gracious way.
Due to her strict personality, she can sometimes be too serious about things, but she sometimes has trouble handling her finances. The head of the kendo club, she’s pretty much at a genius level when it comes to kendo and hasn’t lost a single match for several years.

Just like her [url=https://vndb.org/c19116]older brother[/url], she’ll be attending the St. Francesca academy starting this spring with their childhood friend [url=https://vndb.org/c11966]Yuika[/url] who's already a student of this academy since her first year.
Unlike her brother, she’s very serious when it comes to studies and lifestyle choices, but the two of them still get along great when going shopping and stuff like that.
Used to be sensitive and obedient when she was younger, but is starting to get more complex now that she’s older. She’s quite girlish, but she also has a strange love for B-grade horror flicks.

[spoiler]Despite her small size and young age, she is exceptionally brave and courageous. Umi has only one fear: that Akihito no longer considers her as his little sister if he remembers the truth about who she really is.

With skin so pale as to be pure white, bright blond hair, and blue eyes, Sonya is a girl with a mysterious atmosphere about her. She is docile, serious, kind and polite in both manners and speech. One could say she’s a bit like an angel. She doesn’t talk much about herself, however, and may seem a bit introverted. In particular, she avoids talking about her upbringing. She’s good at listening to other people, though, and never complains about it. Not one to usually look anyone in the eye, possibly because she never really got into any kind of group of people. Perhaps that is why she hasn’t had many friends up until now. She is also a nun in training, and thus spends a lot of time cleaning at the local church with her mother [url=https://vndb.org/c67880]Mai[/url].

She is very friendly with her classmate [url=https://vndb.org/c11964]Umi[/url], they are already inseparable.

She is very good at making her own stuffed animals. She always makes two copies, one representing the mother and the other representing her daughter. She also likes to visit young orphans to make shows with her stuffed animals.

[spoiler]She lost her father more than 10 years ago and her mother forcibly returned to Italy because her father (Sonya's grandfather) wanted her to return to him. Sonya was adopted by Mai when she was 4, but she almost never calls her "mom".[/spoiler]

### Kusuhara Ayaka (楠原 彩夏)

She’s a family-oriented girl who loves reading and cooking. She meets [url=https://vndb.org/c19116]Akihito[/url] when he finds an abandoned puppy. Ayaka often reads books in the courtyard, and smiles when Akihito comes to talk to her. She’s supposedly a member of the art club, but she usually doesn’t attend the club’s activities.
Akihito is charmed by her kindness when she brings him a homemade bento.
However, even Akihito gets perplexed when she gets overly sensitive about family matters and paintings.

Reika often compares the relationship between Satsuki and Ayaka as being similar to that between a legal guardian and his adopted child.

Ayaka is very assertive with Akihito, she's pretty "touchy" with him; she often takes his hand, resting against his shoulder or letting him rest on her thighs. She also invites him to walk with Orange (her dog) and also invites him to eat at her place.

[spoiler]Ayaka has many worries in her life: she suffers from a heart disease that will be fatal to her if she doesn't get surgery (who itself has very little chance of success), she is in very bad terms with her stepmother and her father and she is still recovering from the disappearance of her mother and another person, whom she loved immensely but who died 4 years ago of the same disease as she has.[/spoiler]

She’s got a bright personality and she’s very energetic, plus she’s a member of the swimming club. There are times when she’s kind and times when she’s cold, making her a rather moody person. Riru loves cute girls, and she often gets into arguments with Akihito when she talks about it. There are even times when she says mean things to Akihito or makes fun of him on purpose. She’s from a hardworking family, and she does her best every day to improve her cooking and candy making skills.

[spoiler]She is madly in love with her senpai [url=https://vndb.org/c67854]Reika[/url] since she met her the day she arrived at the swimming club with her friend [url=https://vndb.org/c67879]Yuuki[/url].

In her route, thanks to Akihito who became her best friend and confidant, she finds the courage to confess her  feelings to Reika and they start dating. However, Akihito realizes his feelings for Riru, Riru depresses because her best friend doesn't speak to her anymore and things take another turn.[/spoiler]

She is a spontaneous and easy-going girl, cheerful all year round and liked by everyone. Not very good at sports, but excellent at studying. From a rather rich family, but still likes to challenge herself and find new types of cooking to experiment with.
She was Akihito’s first love, but his confession ended in disaster, and they ended up just staying friends instead. When Akihito meets her again, she’s just the same as back then, and he still has no idea if she knows how he felt for her.

[spoiler]In her route, Akihito reconfirms his feelings to Yuika at the same time as [url=https://vndb.org/c19115]Oikawa[/url] who confess his feelings to her. Yuika then decides to choose Oikawa instead of Akihito because she thinks that she doesn't have the right to be loved by Akihito. They then start going out together in the city and walking around the parks. However, she can not lie to her feelings and when Oikawa tries to steal a kiss, her eyes start to reflect something that stops his action.

She thinks, indeed, to be the true and only guilty of the death of [url=https://vndb.org/c74455]Umi[/url] because they had disputed themselves that day. It is for this reason that she prefers to go out with Oikawa despite her pure love feelings for Akihito.[/spoiler]

We can sometimes see some of the conversations she has with her friend, apparently their "hunt" is absolutely not fruitful this year.

Her feelings change to the point where she openly declares to be Kisaya's rival to get Akihito's love and she is ready to get it all.[/spoiler]

### Matsubara Reika (松原 麗架)

She is a girl who has her own style of speaking and is easily affordable. She will meet [url=https://vndb.org/c19116]Akihito[/url] with [url=https://vndb.org/c67849]Satsuki[/url] after his chance meeting with [url=https://vndb.org/c11969]Ayaka[/url], her friend and classmate. 

Reika is ranked as the 3rd prettiest girl in the high school (according to [url=https://vndb.org/c19115]Oikawa[/url]).

She doesn't like boys in general though Akihito, who is an exception. She also likes Oikawa (although he is a boy) because he thinks that Ayaka is prettier than she is, that she approves. She offers her help to Akihito very generously whenever he needs it.
