## Description
According to Nasu, Fate/EXTRA is a JRPG which takes place set in an alternate universe that split from the Fate/stay night timeline in the 1980s to 1990s.

The Story is set in the in a school called Tsukumihara Academy, a fictional place existing with an artificial environment called the Moon Cell. There, the Moon Cell orchestrates a replication of the Holy Grail War using a system called Serial Phantasm or SE.RA.PH, which handles the summoning of Servants. Servant data is taken from the Automaton (Moon Cell Automaton), a spiritual computer system built on the lunar surface by a pre-human civilization and discovered by humans in the year 2032.
The Automaton has monitored and recorded all occurrences on the Earth (including the activities of human heroes) since time immemorial. In this sense, it is similar to the Throne of Heroes, but it's possible to summons beings which aren't present in the Throne.

Each of the 128 participants in the war must duel the other Masters in a place called the Arena, where failure results in deletion from both the real and digital worlds. When only one remains, the "Holy Grail" shall grant the victor's wish.

### Saver (セイヴァー)
[spoiler]Saver is Twice H Pieceman's second servant. Shakyamuni is the most famous Buddha who became Buddha through self-realization. He was released from all suffering and pain while alive. His “teachings to attain Buddhahood” are what makes up Buddhism; however, in Buddhism, it never said that “if you study this, you will be saved.” Buddhism is a philosophy that came to Shakyamuni when he had reached Buddhahood, and Shakyamuni did not mention "This is the only teaching to the way of Buddhahood." The path to enlightenment varies from person to person. As far as Buddhism is concerned, the potential to become a Buddha is present within everyone. Every human will eventually attain enlightenment. Of course, this includes those who are good as well as those who are evil, those who are kind as well as those who are heartless; everyone is subject to the process of becoming a Buddha. He and Twice are the final bosses of the game.[/spoiler]

### Twice H Pieceman (トワイス・Ｈ・ピースマン)
[spoiler]Twice H. Pieceman was born in born in a place where a war being fought. He was a war orphan and was later adopted by his foster parents. He became a prominent scientist in the fields of advanced neurosurgery in the latter half of the 20th century and pioneered the science of digital hacking and he is thought to be the first Spritron-hacker. He discovered a cure for the disease known as Amnesia Syndrome.  After becoming a scientist, he still risked his life to save others. When he was called to a city to treat victims of the disease he was killed in a bioterrorism attack. His data was recorded by the Moon Cell Automaton and became part of the system. After serving in multiple Grail Wars as an NPC, the constant exposure to the human Masters combining with his skill as a Spiritron-hacker eventually caused his data to become self-aware, and he now exists in the Moon Cell as both a NPC and a Master. 
After becoming self-aware, Twice became a Master and summoned Caster. He went on to fight in countless Holy Grail Wars, but failed to win the war. Eventually he lost Caster and he prayed for salvation until he was given a new servant, Saver. Saver responded to Twice, not because he agreed with Twice's ideals, but out of compassion for his soul. However, once he reached the core of the Moon Cell, he found that, as an NPC, he could not enter the core without being deleted as invalid data. From there, he redesigned the Holy Grail War to the current system and asked each Master who was victorious in the Holy Grail War to wish for the perpetuation of war and the continued advancement of man. However, all the Masters who faced him refused, and thus were killed by him and Saver. He and Saver are the final bosses of the game.[/spoiler]

Aoko is a member of the Aozaki family. When she was young, Aoko's grandfather, the third generation head chose to raise her older sister Touko as his successor while Aoko lived with her parents. When she was sixteen years old, Aoko was suddenly named the successor to the Fifth Magic by her grandfather, and Touko, who was being trained as the successor until that point, was abandoned. Therefore, she originally had a very bad relationship with her sister.

### Aozaki Touko (蒼崎 橙子)
Aozaki Touko appeared as the sister of Aozaki Aoko in the novel Mahoutsukai no Yoru and made a later appearance in Kara no Kyoukai.

In Kara no Kyoukai, she is shown as a puppet maker and an occasional buildings designer. Together with Kokutou Mikiya, she runs a kind of detective agency (Garan no Dou (伽藍の洞)) that only engages in cases with supernatural or abnormal elements. Touko does not share a particularly good relationship with her sister, yet this break's causes are unknown.

She's a powerful magus, and she can reproduce parts of a body that can be used instead of the lost part. While this would be nothing special, she can copy the piece in such a perfect way that it comes close to the real one. The glasses Toono Shiki wears were initially made by Touko. Her sister Aoko stole them from Touko and made them indestructible.

As a doll-maker, she received a Sealing Designation for creating a doll (body) that was a replica of her own body.

Touko has 20 Magic Circuits, which surprised the Aozaki clan as the number of Magic Circuits in their line had been dwindling. Due to her formidable power, Mage's Association dubbed her with the color Tou (橙, Orange), close to the three primary colors. She wished to get the color Blue, but that title was taken by her sister Aoko.

Ryougi assists the "Garan no Dou" agency run by Aozaki Touko, helping to handle the paranormal cases when combat is required.
