She is a prodigy among spirit mediums, having "intense spiritual power", and also having knowledge of the Fey clan that exceeds Maya's, who is expected to assume the title of Kurain Master. Although usually a cheerful and innocent little girl, upon meeting strangers, Pearl will not say anything and will instead quickly run away. Even if a stranger greets her nicely, or even if Maya herself introduces him or her, it takes a long time to gain her trust. This is due to her mother teaching her to do this whenever a suspicious-looking person tries to talk to her. Wright has noted her speech, and even her laugh, to be refined in tone. [SPOILER] During the events of "Reunion, and Turnabout", "Ini Miney" was arrested the next day for the murder of Turner Grey following Wright's defense of Maya, and because of Morgan's role as an accomplice, she was sent to prison, effectively leaving Pearl Fey alone. He shows an open dislike of Wright, intentionally mispronouncing his name as "Trite" to show his contempt. Godot has been described as "smug" and a "hot-shot". He's unrelenting in court and is fond of using countless metaphors and quotes constituting his "rules". He seems to dislike Wright; openly demeaning and taunting him and even occasionally throwing a coffee cup (filled with boiling hot coffee) at Wright's head in court. In comparison with the other prosecutors Wright encountered during his career, Godot is infrequently rattled when the defense gains the upper hand, and is generally very calm and collected. Godot's most notable personality trait is his deep love of coffee. [SPOILER] Godot was originally Diego Armando, Mia Fey's boyfriend and fellow defence attorney working at Grossberg Law Offices. before he was poisoned by Dahlia Hawthorne. He slipped into a coma as a result of the poisoning, which damaged his central nervous system, turned his hair white and caused some colour blindness (he is not able to see red on white backgrounds). Godot also used his privileges as a prosecutor to spy on Morgan Fey, whom he knew had tried to frame Maya Fey for murder and whom he feared would attempt to kill or otherwise harm her again. One day, he overheard Morgan telling her daughter Pearl about a letter she had hidden, which would give her instructions for killing Maya Fey. Oblivious to the letter's purpose and unable to understand some of the words, Pearl attempted to carry through with the plan, telling Phoenix Wright and Maya about Hazakura Temple. Godot contacted Iris, a nun at the temple, and Misty Fey, Maya's mother, telling them about the plan and asking for their assistance. Misty had by then taken on another identity as children's book author Elise Deauxnim. Misty attempted to keep Pearl from carrying through with the plan by inviting her to read some books, but Pearl went anyway. She crossed a bridge to the Inner Temple, where Maya was training. Following her mother's instructions, she attempted to channel Dahlia Hawthorne, who had been executed a month before. Godot was already near the temple, prepared for the worst. When Pearl did not show up, Misty became worried and also crossed to the island, channeling Hawthorne to prevent Pearl from doing so. Hawthorne, in Misty's body, found Maya in a garden and attempted to kill her, cornering her on a lantern in the temple garden. Godot, however, possessed by hatred, stabbed Hawthorne with a sword-cane that Misty had brought, but Hawthorne attacked Godot one final time, causing his visor to fly off his face, leaving a wound. Godot put on his visor again, which concealed his wound. He then carried Maya into the temple and cleaned up the bloodied snow. Unable to see the blood, he was forced to shovel a large rectangular area around the lantern. This also meant that he missed the bloody writing that read "Maya", which Hawthorne had written on the lantern before she died. Godot tried to carry Misty's body over the bridge, but it had burnt down, so he attached the corpse to a loose cable and swung it across the river for Iris to receive on the other side. Iris then stabbed the corpse in the Hazakura Temple courtyard with the Shichishito sword to make it look as if the crime scene had been on that side. During the trial of Misty's murder, Hawthorne, pretending to be Iris, testified that Maya committed the crime. However, Wright eventually uncovered her identity and, with the help of Godot and Mia, was able to come to the conclusion that Maya was channeling Hawthorne. Hawthorne, condemned to eternal failure at the hands of Mia, fled from Maya's body. Godot then challenged Wright to try and find the true killer, without the help and support of the Fey sisters. Maya later testified as well. Filled with gratitude for Godot, she attempted to cover for him. Godot taunted Wright, asserting that he would "never be half the lawyer [Mia] was", but Wright, fulfilling his mentor's legacy, persevered and proved that Godot was the killer. Realizing this, and seeing Mia's spirit in Wright, Godot finally admitted his mistakes, accepting that he had only been angry at "Trite" because he had needed someone to blame for Mia's death. He further added that he had been at least partly motivated by a chance at redemption; if he had really only wanted to save Maya, he would have talked to Wright about the plan. [SPOILER] Morgan Fey, who was to become the head of the Fey clan, married a wealthy jeweler and had two twin daughters with him: Dahlia and Iris. However, Misty, Morgan's younger sister, had more spiritual power than Morgan did, and she became the head instead, making Morgan's bloodline a powerless branch family. The jeweler left his wife, taking their daughters with him. He later remarried to a woman who already had a daughter, Valerie Hawthorne. As Dahlia stayed with the Hawthornes, she began to hate her father and plotted against him for his money. When Dahlia was fourteen, she pretended to fall in love with Terry Fawles, her tutor. With Valerie's cooperation, she staged a fake kidnapping by Fawles to get her hands on one of her father's rare jewels. At Dusky Bridge near Hazakura Temple, however, Valerie betrayed Fawles and shot him in the arm, the signal for the "hostage" to jump into Eagle River intentionally with the diamond in her backpack. Fawles was convicted for Dahlia's "murder" and sentenced to death row. Five years later, Fawles was being transferred to another prison, but his transport broke down and he broke out. He called Valerie and told her to meet him at Dusky Bridge to explain what had happened. Valerie called Dahlia and told her that she was going to tell the truth about the incident. Fearful of what would result from the meeting, Dahlia stabbed Valerie at Dusky Bridge and then, when Fawles arrived by a stolen car, she hid the body in the trunk of the car and then met Fawles at the bridge, posing as Valerie. Fawles was arrested soon afterward. During Fawles's trial, Miles Edgeworth prepared Dahlia as a witness named Melissa Foster. Mia Fey was almost able to prove that Dahlia was the killer, but Fawles refused to cooperate with Mia, poisoning himself and dying on the stand instead. The result of the trial drove Mia and her co-worker, Diego Armando, to investigate Dahlia. Dahlia found out and convinced Diego to meet her in the courthouse cafeteria six months later. Fearful that Diego would expose the truth, Dahlia quietly slipped poison into his coffee from her bottle necklace. Soon after, in the reading room, Dahlia stumbled across fellow Ivy University student Phoenix Wright and gave him the necklace as a "love gift" to evade the authorities. Doug Swallow later found out about the stolen poison and broke up with her. Diego was put into a coma from the poisoning. Dahlia asked Iris to live her life at Ivy University in the event of another encounter with law enforcement, and to retake the bottle from Wright. Six months went by and the bottle necklace was not recovered. Having failed in the task for all that time, Dahlia suspected that Iris had actually fallen in love with Wright. Without Iris’ knowledge, Dahlia took matters into her own hands and went back to the university herself in desperation. She attempted to kill Wright by stealing more of Swallow's poison and using it to poison Wright's cold medicine. However, before her plan could come to fruition, she found Swallow trying to warn Wright about her and the stolen poison. Dahlia then permanently silenced Swallow by using power cables to fatally electrocute him, and attempted to frame Wright for his murder. Mia had finally decided to return to the courtroom for the first time since Fawles' trial. She took on Wright's case and Dahlia was then convicted and sentenced to death, but swore that she would someday have her revenge against the woman who had defeated her. One month after her execution, Godot and Misty Fey learned of Morgan's plot and tried to stop it by having Misty channel Dahlia instead. Godot would then restrain Dahlia and stop her from killing Maya. However, Dahlia attacked Maya at the Inner Temple, which was some distance away from Hazakura Temple. After channelling and asking her sister Mia for help, Maya used her sister's advice and locked herself in the Inner Temple's icy Training Hall and channelled Dahlia to prevent Pearl, who was unknowing of the entire plot, from channelling Dahlia and consequentially murdering Maya. After being exposed and distraught over her failure to kill Maya, Dahlia left Maya's body, and the judge suggested that her spirit never be channelled again. Dahlia knew that her beauty and innocent appearance threw others off her true nature and took full advantage of it. However, this aura of innocence was a façade, and when pressed into a corner, her demeanor could change to a terrifying, almost demonic visage. In truth, Dahlia looked after and cared about nobody but herself. Many who have seen Hawthorne's true nature, have described Dahlia as evil. She displayed absolutely no remorse or regret for any of the crimes she had committed. Like his brother, he is very easily wooed by female witnesses. He tries to run standard, serious trials with minimal eccentricities. He also has a habit of saying that he doesn't know how he feels about certain topics that come up in court. This judge seems to exhibit a stereotypical Canadian personality. Thus, she is happiest when her motorcycle is at full throttle. Both her and her husband share a fascination with ancient artifacts. [SPOILER] Prior to meeting her husband, Desirée was abducted by two robbers in her former workplace. Ron DeLite, who was working as a security guard at the time, saved her from the two criminals. She instantly fell in love with him and soon enough the two were wed. However, Ron's pay couldn't support Desirée's shopping habits, so Ron stole and disclosed private information regarding his employer KB Security. He was caught and fired. Ron didn't tell Desirée about his crime due to her hatred of criminals. Desperate to maintain her lifestyle in fear of her leaving him, he became a thief known as Mask☆DeMasque, something he didn't tell his wife due to her aforementioned hatred. Ron, as Mask☆DeMasque, stole more precious items, the first by himself and the rest by following plans sent by Luke Atmey who blackmailed him with his true identity to steal again and again. Months after Ron's acquittal, the couple visited the Zodiac Hall to admire the works of the late French sculptor Paul Halique. He is a defendant in the Mask☆DeMasque trials. [SPOILER] Ron is actually the true Mask☆DeMasque, as Luke Atmey pretended to be so in order to escape murder charges. Ron met his wife Desirée while he was a security guard at KB Security. After saving her from two knife-wielding robbers, the pair married shortly after. Ron's pay, however, was not nearly enough to cover his wife's excessive spending. Worried that she would leave him, he attempted to steal confidential information from his employer in order to support her, but was quickly caught and fired by the company's CEO, Kane Bullard. Desperate, Ron decided to become a thief, as he could think of no other job in the world allow his wife to continue her spending sprees, although he was all too aware of her strong dislike of criminals. He created a disguise and took on the pseudonym of "Mask☆DeMasque". For his first heist, he stole the Tear of Emanon, and then he quickly dumped his costume in the trash. However, a passing Luke Atmey spotted the costume and soon figured out Mask☆DeMasque's identity. He then began to blackmail Ron into stealing three other precious items for him: the Crown of Bongora, the Left Hand of Hades, and the Portrait of Mejeena. Atmey's final blackmail letter instructed Ron to go to Bullard's office at KB Security. Ron dressed himself in his Mask☆DeMasque costume and did as he was told, but then Atmey, who was already in the office, knocked him unconscious. After regaining consciousness, Ron found himself alone in the room with Bullard's corpse. He decided to hide Kane Bullard's body in a safe, fearing that he would be accused of murdering the CEO. He then turned himself in as Mask☆DeMasque for the theft of the Kurain Sacred Urn, which Atmey had stolen disguised as Mask☆DeMasque. Wright soon got his client a not guilty verdict by implicating Luke Atmey as the real Mask☆DeMasque. However, Ron was then accused of Bullard's murder. Only people who worked at KB Security knew how to unlock the safe containing Bullard's body, which cast suspicion on Ron. Eventually, Wright would prove Ron's innocence by correcting his own implication of Atmey as Mask☆DeMasque and re-implicating him as Bullard's killer. Ron, in turn, could not be charged for the Mask☆DeMasque heists by the double jeopardy law, which meant that he was allowed to walk free. Iris was born to the then-upcoming Master of the Fey clan, Morgan Fey, and a wealthy jeweler. When Morgan's sister Misty Fey became the Master instead, the father was very displeased, as the Master had great political influence, so he left with Iris and her twin sister Dahlia. He remarried with another woman who had a daughter, Valerie Hawthorne from a previous marriage. Believing that two girls were enough, and partly through Dahlia's suggestions, the father sent Iris to Hazakura Temple, where the head nun, Sister Bikini, raised her. One day, Dahlia convinced Iris to conspire in a fake kidnapping involving her, Valerie and Terry Fawles to steal a jewel from her father. However, Iris never showed up. It is unknown what her planned role in the kidnapping was, though Iris confirmed herself years later that she was, indeed, supposed to be involved in it. Five years later, Dahlia poisoned Diego Armando during an investigation and gave her bottle of poison to Phoenix Wright disguised as a necklace. As Dahlia was still under suspicion for the poisoning, and not wanting to give her sister another sin to answer for, Iris suggested to pose as her and to feign a relationship with Wright to retrieve the poisoned bottle so he would not get involved. However, Wright, convinced that the necklace was a love gift from Dahlia, began to show the necklace to everybody he met, refusing to return the necklace. After eight months, Iris had really fallen in love with Wright and had developed a strong loyalty to him; she could not deprive him of the necklace he loved. Five years later, Godot, Iris and Misty Fey learned of a plot by Dahlia and Morgan to kill Maya Fey. Morgan instructed her daughter Pearl Fey to channel Dahlia, who would kill Maya. Godot had Misty channel Dahlia instead; Godot would then restrain Dahlia and stop her from killing Maya. However, Godot was forced to "kill" Dahlia with Misty's sword-cane, which killed Misty. Iris then moved the body to Hazakura Temple's courtyard and plunged the Shichishito into it. Bikini witnessed this, and Iris became the main suspect in Deauxnim's murder. During the investigation, Iris told Miles Edgeworth, who was to act temporarily for Phoenix Wright as her attorney, that she had a secret to tell Wright after the trial. However, she did not reveal the secret to Edgeworth. The next day, Wright took over as Iris's attorney and began his investigation. He found that Maya was locked inside the Inner Temple with a trick lock; Iris was summoned to try to break the lock systematically, with Edgeworth watching over her. Later, an earthquake struck the area; while Iris had broken the lock, she found Dahlia (being channeled by Maya), who switched places with her and locked her in with five trick locks. In court, Dahlia, pretending to be Iris, tried to implicate Maya as the killer, not knowing that Maya was channeling her. Wright eventually figured out that she was Dahlia and that Maya had been channeling her; overcome with grief for her failure to kill Maya, she left Maya's body. The real Iris was eventually released from her prison and declared not guilty after Wright exposed Godot as the killer. However, she would still be tried for her actions as an accomplice. In order to be ready to examine clues all the time, Atmey wears a monocle that doubles as a magnifying glass. He seemes to be proud of his acquisition of the red diamond on his ring, often showing it off. In addition, he tends to use sophisticated or multi-syllabic words, with plenty of alliteration. His most memorable personality quirk is his habit of exclaiming the word "Zvarri!" similarly to the way in which "Eureka!" is often used. Since Atmey's arrest, Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey have used this word as well, in reference to the case. When Mask☆DeMasque stole the Tear of Emanon, Atmey figured out that the thief's real identity was Ron DeLite. He sent a letter to DeLite, telling him to give the Tear to him in exchange for money lest he be caught. Atmey began to blackmail DeLite into stealing three more items for him in exchange for money. Atmey gave DeLite plans and instructions to help him steal the items. On the third planned heist, Atmey "retrieved" the item in question and received a red jewel from the museum in return. One day, Kane Bullard found out about Atmey's secret and began blackmailing him, threatening to expose the secret to the press. Atmey decided to take matters into his own hands and kill Bullard, using one final blackmail letter to lure DeLite in to take the fall for him. In order to secure an alibi for himself, Atmey faked video evidence of himself dressed as Mask☆DeMasque stealing the Kurain Sacred Urn on the night of the murder. DeLite turned himself in for the thefts in order to prevent himself from being implicated for the murder. When the trial for DeLite's supposed theft of the urn started, Atmey used the forged evidence to trick DeLite's attorney, Phoenix Wright, into implicating Atmey for the thefts. If Atmey was tried for the crime and declared guilty, he would be determined to be not guilty of the murder by his alibi, thus making it impossible for him to be charged for the murder under the law of double jeopardy. However, during DeLite's subsequent trial for the murder, Wright uncovered this plot and successfully pinned the murder on Atmey before he was formally found guilty for the Mask☆DeMasque crimes. He always carries bird seeds and uses every opportunity to throw them at pigeons and people as a way of venting his anger, although he eats the seeds himself when he gets really angry. Angered by the outcome, Armando broke his mug of coffee with his bare hands and started bleeding. Soon afterward, the two lawyers started dating, with their boss Marvin Grossberg referring to them as such. On August 27, 2012, Armando sat with Dahlia Hawthorne to question her. Fearing that the lawyer was on to her, Hawthorne slipped a special poison into his cup of coffee. As a result of drinking the poisoned cup, Armando fell into a coma. The poison damaged his central nervous system, caused extreme damage to his eyes, and turned the hair on his head white. Five years later, Armando woke up to the smell of coffee. However, he learned that Mia Fey, the woman he loved, had been murdered a year ago by Redd White, and that Hawthorne, the woman he hated, had already been brought to justice. Following this, Andrews developed a cold, smug, strong-willed demeanor, trying to imitate Inpax to cope with her death. Her dedication to avenging her mentor fueled her cunning attempts to obtain Inpax's suicide note and frame Engarde for Corrida's murder. During the investigation of Corrida's murder, Andrews quickly developed another unhealthy emotional attachment to prosecutor Franziska von Karma. Andrews entered the entertainment business and met Celeste Inpax. The two shared a strong bond as mentor and student. Inpax was to get married, but her fiancé, Juan Corrida, called it off. It turned out that he had done so after his rival, Matt Engarde, revealed to the groom-to-be that he had previously been in a relationship with Inpax. Betrayed and heartbroken, Inpax subsequently committed suicide. After the body was discovered, a grief-stricken Andrews attempted to kill herself as well. Failing to do so, she attended counseling sessions for some time. She later became Engarde's manager, biding her time for an opportunity for revenge to present itself. Rumors circulated that Inpax had left behind a suicide note, and Corrida claimed to have retrieved the note and hidden it. Andrews began contacting Corrida, and eventually got into a personal relationship with him in order to draw closer to obtain the note. He, in turn, took advantage of the situation in an attempt to destroy Engarde's image, by leaking to the tabloid media that Engarde's manager was in a relationship with his rival. Corrida planned to use Celeste's suicide note to destroy Engarde's reputation in a press conference that he was going to hold, after the Hero of Heroes Grand Prix at the Gatewater Imperial Hotel, while pretending to be Engarde in the costume of Engarde's starring role at the time, the Nickel Samurai. However, Andrews secretly planned to burn the note to preserve Inpax's dignity. After Engarde's Nickel Samurai beat Corrida's Jammin' Ninja in the Grand Prix, Andrews and Engarde ate a meal together in his hotel room. Engarde then had a nap to prepare for the post-ceremony stage show, while Andrews took the opportunity to visit Corrida and prepare for Corrida's concocted press conference. After crossing the hallway to Corrida's hotel room, she found him sitting in a chair in his Jammin' Ninja costume. After pouring a glass of tomato juice for him, she suddenly realized that he was dead, breaking a vase in her shock. Andrews decided to tamper with the crime scene to implicate Engarde as the killer. Franziska von Karma is very much like her father in court; arrogant, but also unrelenting and cold, going to extreme lengths to get a guilty verdict. She likes to use her whip to assert her dominance over other people, including those who are supposed to be her superiors. One notable difference from her father is her greater tendency to lose her cool, which is similar to Edgeworth. [SPOILER] Franziska von Karma learned of her father's loss to defense attorney Phoenix Wright and his subsequent conviction for the murder of Gregory Edgeworth. She also learned of Miles Edgeworth's losses to Wright and his subsequent disappearance. Franziska traveled to Los Angeles to face Wright in court; if she won, she would have beaten a lawyer that Edgeworth could not, getting her revenge for being "left behind". Franziska believed that perfection was the only option she had. She had to be a "genius" prosecutor, although she knew that she was not really capable of the genius her father had displayed. She viewed trials and investigations as competitions, and considered defense attorneys her enemies. Thus, when she began to lose to Phoenix Wright, she lost what she believed was the meaning of her life. He fell in love with one of his students, the 14-year-old Dahlia Hawthorne. His devotion to her was so great that they buried a vial of poison under a tree near Hazakura Temple and vowed to each other that whoever lost faith in the other would drink the poison. However, Dahlia did not truly reciprocate Fawles's love, instead manipulating him for her purposes. The poison under the tree was her insurance against Fawles, in that he would unthinkingly commit suicide as soon as he became a danger to her. Later, Dahlia and her stepsister, detective Valerie Hawthorne, planned a fake kidnapping with Fawles involved. They stole a raw diamond from the Hawthornes' father and held Dahlia for ransom, which the three planned to split between them. They met at Dusky Bridge, but events did not go as Fawles was led to believe. Valerie shot Fawles in the arm and then Dahlia jumped off the bridge and into Eagle River. Fawles was betrayed to the police, being blamed for Dahlia's murder (though she survived and hid by Valerie). Based on Valerie's testimony, he was convicted and sentenced to death. The confused Terry Fawles was placed in solitary confinement, wondering why Valerie had betrayed him. Five years later, Fawles escaped police custody and phoned Valerie to meet her at Dusky Bridge, so that he could confront her about the betrayal; he just wanted to know why she had done it. He told Valerie to wear a white scarf for identification, as he had forgotten what she looked like. He stole a young couple's car while they were waiting at a red light, and drove up Eagle Mountain. Fawles left his car near Dusky Bridge at 4:00 p.m., went back to the temple to retrieve the vial of poison he and Dahlia had buried, and returned to Dusky Bridge at 4:30. However, the woman he thought was Valerie was, in fact, Dahlia, whom Valerie had told about the call. Dahlia had killed the real Valerie to protect herself. She told Fawles simply that someone had to take the fall for the kidnapping. Fawles left with that answer, only to be arrested at a police checkpoint that detective Dick Gumshoe had set up at the base of Eagle Mountain. Although Fawles insisted on his innocence, most of the lawyers that looked at his case rejected it as a lost cause. He was already an escaped death row convict, and on top of that, his claims about what had happened were unreliable. However, rookie attorney Mia Fey saw the honesty in his eyes and childlike voice, and so she took his case, with Diego Armando as her co-counsel. During the trial, the woman that Fawles had met on Dusky Bridge stood on the witness stand and testified against him. Fey's cross-examination revealed her to be Dahlia Hawthorne, and because of this final betrayal, Fawles drank the vial. Fey eventually called him to the witness stand to testify about who he had really met on the bridge, but he insisted that he had met Valerie, not Dahlia. Bruto was furious and demanded from Tigre the $1 million required for the surgery to save Viola's life. Short on time, Tigre called in all the loans he could. One of his debtors was Elg, who had accumulated a particularly large debt from his gambling addiction on top of Tender Lender's interest rate. Viola, meanwhile, became infatuated with Tigre, unaware of the reason he was paying her medical bills. She began assisting him in his business, to his chargin as he disliked her, but he pretended to appreciate it out of fear of further angering Bruto. On December 3, Elg met Tigre at the French restaurant Trés Bien, intending to repay the loan by giving him the disc containing MC Bomber, a computer virus that would sell for millions of dollars on the black market. Unfortunately for Tigre, during the meeting, Elg, who was listening to the radio with an earpiece, won the grand prize of the city's local lottery. The prize was enough to pay Elg's debts, but not enough to handle Tigre's. Desperate, Tigre killed Elg by poisoning him and took the disc. He then acted out the murder for the purposes of providing a false witness in [url=https://vndb.org/c14417]Victor Kudo[/url] and framing Byrde, who worked at the restaurant; Tigre posed as Elg, while Viola posed as Byrde. However, Tigre was unaware that the recreation contained a number of mistakes, most notably Elg's earpiece being in the wrong ear. However, Viola's admission of guilt for this particular accident made Tigre relent and leave the scene, but not before threatening Wright to cease trying to ruin his plan. After speaking with Viola, and making her realize Tigre's true role in her incident, Wright obtained her medical papers. In response, Tigre ambushed Wright at Trés Bien, where he once again forced Armstrong to support him. Tigre roughed up Wright, and was about to burn the medical papers with a lighter, if not for Gumshoe's timely intervention, which allowed Wright to flee with the papers while Gumshoe held off Tigre. The next day, Wright was able to force Armstrong to confess about his coercion by Tigre, which made the prosecutor, [url=https://vndb.org/c14420]Godot[/url], ask for a recess in order to subpoena him. Despite Tigre's many attempts to dodge accusations, Wright tricked him into implicating himself by presenting a bottle containing Elg's ear medicine and claiming that it was the poison used to kill him; Tigre laughed and made an outburst that corrected him, explaining, in intricate detail, the type of bottle that held the poison, something he would have been unable to do if he was not the killer. On Dec. 3, 2018, during her shift, Byrde served coffee to two men, Furio Tigre and Glen Elg, at a table. She saw Tigre slip potassium cyanide into Elg's cup of coffee; when Elg drank his coffee, he collapsed and died, causing Byrde to faint. When Byrde woke up, she found that she had been accused of the crime; Tigre had had Armstrong hide Byrde and Elg in the kitchen and reenact the crime to fool a witness into thinking Byrde had killed the victim. Byrde again hired Phoenix Wright to defend her, but Tigre appeared instead, disguised as Wright, and Tigre intentionally put up a poor defense against the case of prosecutor Winston Payne. A month later, however, the real Phoenix Wright appealed the case and exposed Tigre as the killer, clearing Byrde's name once more. After her stint as a waitress, Byrde was hired as a security guard in the Prosecutor's Building. Twenty years before her death, Misty Fey was the Master of the Kurain School of Spirit Channeling. Although this title is usually bestowed upon the eldest daughter of the previous Master, Misty's spiritual powers were much greater than those of her older sister, Morgan Fey, so Misty gained the position instead. At some point she married and had two daughters, Mia and Maya. Her husband died whilst Maya was still young. In 2001, the police department hired Misty Fey to contact the spirit of Gregory Edgeworth to find out who had killed him, as the investigation had no leads and so the police were desperate. Misty successfully channeled Edgeworth's spirit, who accused Yanni Yogi of the murder. Yogi was arrested; in court, however, all charges against Yogi were dropped thanks to a temporary insanity plea by Yogi, which Robert Hammond, his attorney, had convinced him to do. Soon after the DL-6 Incident, Redd White learned about Misty Fey's involvement in the investigation from Marvin Grossberg and sold the information to the press. This ruined the reputations of the police as well as the entire Fey clan and its traditions. Misty Fey subsequently left Kurain Village, prompting her elder daughter, Mia Fey, to find out what had happened to her and to investigate both Redd White and DL-6. After that, the full truth of the DL-6 Incident came to light in 2016, when Mia's student Phoenix Wright defended Miles Edgeworth, who happened to be an old friend of his, against a murder charge. Japanese real name: 鹿羽 うらみ (Shikabane Urami) French real name: Violette Cadaverini In September of 2018, Viola Cadaverini was involved in an accident in which her car collided with Furio Tigre on his moped. She suffered life-threatening head trauma and was hospitalized. The operation required to save her life cost $1 million, and her grandfather Bruto demanded that Tigre pay him the cost of the bill. After Viola's surgery, Tigre took care of her; Viola, not knowing that Tigre was the man involved in her accident, or perhaps not wanting to acknowledge that Tigre may only have cared for her out of fear for her grandfather, became affectionate, deeply loyal and respectful toward Tigre. She began to work for him at Tender Lender soon afterward. On Dec. 3, 2018, Tigre asked Viola to help him to set up a fake murder to cover up a real murder he had committed at Trés Bien. Viola posed as the waitress at the restaurant, Maggey Byrde, while Tigre disguised himself as the victim. The owner was forced to play along due to the debt he had to Tigre. An unwitting Victor Kudo soon entered the restaurant, and Tigre and Viola reenacted the crime as Tigre wanted it to be seen; Viola sprinkled powder into the coffee she served to Tigre, and Tigre pretended he had won a lottery (as the victim had won the lottery prior to the real murder) and took a sip of the coffee. Tigre pretended to feel the effects of potassium cyanide poisoning and die. Before Tigre's court appearance, Viola was very loyal to him, calling him "Don Tigre" as a sign of respect and quietly demanding that others do the same. Morgan is extremely overprotective when it comes to Pearl, and she tends to view outsiders, especially Wright, with disdain. [SPOILER] Morgan seemed at first glance to be a calm woman who was apologetic at times for being a "lowly" branch family member, but was revealed to be cold and bitter. Dahlia Hawthorne described her as being cold, twisted, horrible, bitter and vengeful. Morgan considered Pearl her most valued treasure, and her crimes were intended to make Pearl the next Master of Kurain. Dahlia Hawthorne, however, once suggested that Morgan cared only about Pearl's ability to become the next Master. When enraged (usually when Wright doesn't refer to Maya or Pearl by their "Mystic" title), Morgan's eyes become white and blank, a trait shared by her daughter Dahlia Hawthorne when her true nature is revealed. Morgan Fey was married to a wealthy jeweler and gave birth to twin daughters, Iris and Dahlia. She was set to become the heir of the Kurain Channeling Technique, but her sister Misty Fey's superior channeling powers allowed Misty to usurp the position from Morgan. The village looked down on her for losing out to Misty and her family became a powerless branch family. Because of this, Morgan's husband left her and Kurain Village, taking both daughters with him. These events left Morgan a bitter and vengeful woman. Morgan married again and had a daughter, Pearl, who possessed amazing spiritual skills. However, her second marriage ended badly too, with her second husband leaving her soon after Pearl's birth. Morgan had always been bitter that she had been reduced to a branch family. Mimi Miney met Morgan and they came up with a plan to kill Turner Grey and to frame Maya for the murder. For Morgan, this was in order for her daughter, Pearl, to take Maya's place as the Master. About a year later, Morgan was transferred to another prison, which also happened to hold her daughter Dahlia Hawthorne, now a death-row inmate. Although initially planning to kill Hawthorne, she chose to conspire with her to murder Maya. Morgan intended for Pearl to become the next master of Kurain upon Maya's death, while Hawthorne participated in order to take revenge against Maya's late sister Mia Fey, who had gotten her convicted. The plan was for Morgan to guide Pearl towards finding some hidden instructions left for her in Kurain Village. Pearl was to bring Maya to Hazakura Temple, and once there, channel Hawthorne, who would use her body to murder Maya. Morgan considered this "my last great wish", this perhaps being the only opportunity left available to her to usurp the main family. He counted on Elg to be unable to pay his debt and give him the virus, which would fetch several million dollars on the black market. At the meeting, Elg miraculously won $500,000 in a lottery, which meant that there was no legitimate reason for the virus he brought to be given over.
