Tokyo, year 2008. 
There is a mysterious group that experts from various fields gather. And Souji is the most outstanding researcher in the group, who researches about combat androids. He has produced three androids, Ema, Sayu and Toka. They adore Souji, and live a peaceful life. But one day, combat robots invade into his laboratory, and the battle to the end starts....

At the research institute KOKON, he is in charge of the development of combat androids  "EXTRAs", as well as being their guardian. 
Despite young age, he has a talent for genetic engineering that stands out among the researchers.
He is an outwardly bright and intellectual person, but harbors various doubts and internal conflicts. He tries to treat the three EXTRAs under his care like family.
