## Characters
### Jessica Poole
A tough veteran prosecutor who's seen it all, yet never lost her drive. To Jessica Poole, the courtroom is a battlefield. She gives every trial her all, whatever the consequences. Charismatic and competent, she treats the defense as a foe, and won't hesitate to destabilize and ridicule the opposing attorney with biting sarcasm. She always sticks by her principles, to the point of stubbornness. She has been known to act recklessly and to bend the rules when she believes they get in the way of justice. Despite her attitude on the job, Jessica has a caring, motherly side outside of court, and will do anything to help her friends.
She and Judge used to be lovers in university, but she left him to concentrate solely on her career. With her unflinching determination to fight corruption and hard-nosed methods, she made a name for herself, but also dangerous enemies. As a result, she suffered a depression and had to start a new life in the Virgin Islands, where she founded a family. However, the mafia found her there, and killed her husband and kids. She returned to her country with a passion, and when she learnt that her former fiancé's brother had been murdered, she vowed to herself to do anything in her power to bring the Mysterious Bust Killer to justice to redeem herself.
### Rhea Wits
Rhea Wits is a bright and cheerful young woman who happens to work in the death industry. Her brother Nathan was brutally murdered by an infamous serial murderer, the "Mysterious Bust Killer", and she had to testify in the trial of the alleged culprit, Robert Erlenmeyer, where she befriended Judge Chambers who, like her, had lost of a member of his family to the murders. When Judge is arrested for the murder of Erlenmeyer, she decides to help Apollo investigate the case, convinced that there is more to the story than meets the eye.

A dynamic businesswoman who seems to have everything under control, she is not afraid to show her emotions and weaknesses when she needs to. Like a lot of twenty-somethings, she still shows some childish traits and loves to talk about her various quirks and link situations to irrelevant details from her personal life. Rhea is not always as tactful as she should be, and has a penchant for dark humor typical of those in her profession. However, she is hard-working, dedicated, and quickly proves useful in the investigation.
It is revealed that Rhea Wits is the sociopathic, real Mysterious Bust Killer, and only grew closer to Apollo in order to get information out of his investigations and trials (though there are hints that she wasn't entirely pretending). Rhea murdered her brother, Nathan, in order to appear as a victim of the case, and not arouse suspicion for her continued interest in the investigation.

She had manipulated Robert Erlenmeyer into believing that he killed her victims, and eventually murdered him so that the police would assume he was still at large. This would have enabled her to kill as many people as she liked without ever arousing the authorities' suspicions. Judge Chambers was murdered because he had stumbled upon her killing Robert. She hid her victims' bodies in the cemetaries she worked at, as her job as a funeral director allowed access to. She was the one who had stolen Apollo's bracelet. Her name is an anagram of "it was her".
### Robert Erlenmeyer
The victim of this case, Robert was the infamous Mysterious Bust Killer. Allegedly murdered, his body has yet to be found.
Robert Erlenmeyer is actually not dead- his "murder" was an elaborate stunt orchestrated by Paul Strings and Robert's twin brother, Shawn O. Fisher/Bob Erlenmeyer, to break him out of prison. Robert is not actually the Mysterious Bust Killer, too. The real Mysterious Bust Killer is Rhea Wits. Rhea Wits took advantage of his insanity and convinced him that he was the Mysterious Bust Killer, which explains his insisting he is so.

Rhea murders Robert in order to make it look like he had "escaped", thus, she would have been able to murder as much as she liked and the police would just think it's Robert. His mental problems are rooted from the time his pet cat had died in a car accident when he was a child. Although it wasn't his fault, it still traumastised him. Before his incarceration as the "Mysterious Bust Killer", Robert was working as a biology teacher.

### Gerald Strings
The son of Paul Strings, the Chief Justice, Gerald followed his father's footsteps and has recently become a judge himself. A little strange, Gerald sometimes debates with himself and even walks into the wrong courtrooms. He is the judge presiding over this case. Gerald is a bit flighty and impressionable, but is quite competent, and even thought of as somewhat of a "genius", having become a judge at his young age.
Gerald didn't want to become a judge, but did so in order to please his father. During the credits, it is revealed that Gerald has resigned and began to pursue a career in video game design.

### Paul Strings
Paul Strings is the Chief Justice of his State's Supreme Court, and quite a towering presence. A self-taught man who comes from a poor family in the countryside with an abusive father, he is an avid reader who is fond of quoting famous philosophers and intellectuals, and has a love for everything ancient. Even if he is not in charge of the Judge Chambers case, he seems to be strangely involved with its events, and appears to have a history with the defendant. His son, Gerald, is Judge's replacement in court.

Paul Strings is a rather pompous and pretentious man who speaks in a convoluted, archaic way. Even in private, he behaves like an important public figure, and acts cold and distant towards everyone, including his own son (though in reality he is very proud of him). Paul is extremely idealistic and has high moral standards: he strives to follow a stoic lifestyle, and is as strict to himself as he is to others. However, the abstractions in his books and the realities of a life of power have been known to contradict each other...
(Correctly) Believing that Robert Erlenmeyer isn't the true Mysterious Bust Killer, Paul orchestrated (with the assistance of Shawn O. Fischer/Bob Erlenmeyer) Robert's "murder" in order to get him out of prison.
