Step into a tale of parallel universes...

Iris was born in World DE-1, a world that mirrors Earth in the 2000s. With her birth, a series of tragic loops was set in motion, which were gradually unraveled by the efforts of Arata Mizunashi and his team.

With her goodwill restored, Iris created a copy of World DE-1 named World DE-1.5. Here, feuds gave way to friendship, each person a perfect cog in a perfect world. But a new crisis threatens the peace...

A mysterious man has entered the fray, and he leads a group of people who look identical to the world's former heroes. Our new hero, Sayaka Hiwatari, confronts the rising chaos, where friends and foes seem impossible to distinguish.

And so the battle with another world enters a new phase...

One day, Sayaka was suddently pulled into a strange dimension known as the Strain Area. There, she meets a woman from a mysterious group known as the Ludens, who claim to have awakened to self-awareness thanks to somebody's interference. ...At least, that's how it begins. Sayaka is the protagonist of this story. Before she woke up, it seems she mindlessly fought various opponents according to certain rules. Perhaps the God of Death happened to see her back then, somewhere?

Now she lives together with [url=/c160573]Shiina[/url], who gave Sayaka her name. Since it wouldn't be prudent to stay unemployed forever, Shiina invited Sayaka to her own workplace—a game company. Looks like a happy work life is about to begin, huh? ♪ Her first job is to debug a new game called "End to Odyssey."

She's also a bit of an otaku. Maybe that's why she loves playtesting the games Shiina helps develop. As she continues debugging the company's in-house games, she starts encountering bizarre phenomena, the laws of reality begin to distort, and in time, she battles a threat that targets the entire world.

The true creator of Alice Code, the game engine beloved by developers worldwide. While she officially works as an auditor at Aggle Corp., she's also developed various other general-purpose engines. The staff at Aggle don't seem too fond of her.

When she learned that [url=/c160592]Arata[/url] and [url=/c160573]Shiina[/url] had transferred to Iris Corp.—and that many others wanted to leave Enigma too—she helped them leave and find their feet. Because of that, she's not just disliked, but downright resented by those at Enigma. Her part in creating the Alice Code doesn't matter to them. As for Alice herself, she brushes it off, saying she only did what was best for Iris Corp., and by extension, Aggle Corp. Nowadays, she mostly lives off day trading. Not that she needed to; she was already wealthy enough to live comfortably for the rest of her life.

She might seem like someone with a strong sense of duty, but really, she just does whatever sounds interesting. Her greatest obsession is observing death in living beings (because of the variety, she says). It's an absolutely deranged fetish.

She seems like someone who might host a death game, huh... In reality, she's found a different, bizarre way to satisfy that urge, one too outlandish to explain here. [url=/c160572]Sayaka[/url] will end up relying on her many times... Good luck with that!

Truthfully? She doesn't seem to like games very much. On top of that, a certain incident during her stay in Japan left a devastating mark on her mental state, hence the terrifying expression she always wears. Driven by her purpose that arose from that event, she pushes herself day and night. It isn't exactly despair that drives her. Whether that's a good thing or not... who knows. Because of the data, she looks a lot like Celica, but since she loved Celica Clayton to begin with, she's totally happy about it. Even after returning from death, she wishes to continue serving as [url=/c160593]Chloe's[/url] manager, and ARATA assigns her a special mission.

She was originally a passionate Celica fan and a gamer. She played World's Odyssey long before it became popular. Her obsession manifests in bizarre, almost superhuman skills. Although she didn't serve as Chloe's manager for long in life, their trust ran deep. Who would've thought she'd continue being a manager after death?! Later in the story, [url=/c160572]Sayaka[/url] will come face-to-face with Faleena's despair.

She resembles her source: powerful, righteous, and brave. Though her personality clashes with ARATA's, she honors the fact that he created her and fights for him. Not the smartest decision, in my opinion. If [url=/c160572]Sayaka[/url] can appeal to her sense of honor, the tides may turn.

However, the character Clea Glaive from World's Odyssey shares an eerily similar background. It surprised Kaede herself when she played the game. Although she wasn't involved in the development of the game, don't you find it strange that a character just like her appears in it?

How did [url=/c160573]Shiina[/url], the game's writer, get her personal information? Well, maybe the God of Death already has a guess.

However, after ARATA MIZUNASHI made her his assassin, she was twisted by destructive urges. She now finds joy in hurting people and is an incredibly dangerous entity. [url=/c160572]Sayaka[/url] will face her many times. Hopefully, Svetlana can eventually take her back...

On the surface, she only runs idol fan pages and a World's Odyssey database site. She even did official PR work for Enigma Corp., so she's essentially a staff member. These days, her obsession seemed to be centered on the actress [url=/c160593]Chloe Aaron[/url].

How exactly she ends up involved with [url=/c160572]Sayaka[/url] remains to be seen... But they'll unexpectedly cross paths. One day, she hacks into... Iris Corp.! Will Sayaka be able to fend her off?

Naraku is cold, blunt, and sharp-tongued. She harbors overwhelming sadness deep inside. The brightness from her idol days is completely gone. You'd think after coming back to life, she could be a bit more cheerful.

Fascinated by analyzing the logic behind tragic deaths, she supports ARATA's rampage. Her motives make her a terrifying foe for [url=/c160572]Sayaka[/url].

She was the director of World's Odyssey, a VR-compatible MMORPG that remains wildly popular in this world. Currently, she's focused on directing its official sequel, End to Odyssey. She was once in a traffic accident with her mother. Her mother later passed away after developing a condition from the crash. As for Shiina, she also suffered life-threatening injuries, but narrowly survived—thanks to unexpectedly becoming a Luden. This is an extremely rare phenomenon, even on a global scale. She's incredibly lucky.

As a unique Luden and a beautiful director, she's gained a strong following among game fans. That said, she doesn't make many public appearances, so she's more of a "if you know you know" type of figure.

Leveraging the connections she built during End to Odyssey, she's still chasing new dreams. The development of her new title is her top priority. Her number one partner is Arata Mizunashi, who is currently missing. She treasures [url=/c160572]Sayaka[/url], who became her roommate, just as much as she treasures Arata! Balancing her role as Sayaka's guardian and her duties as a director, she stands against the threats to this world!

Reality and games aren't so different, you say? Clever, but despite this world's distortion, it still isn't equal to a game. Svetlana likely thinks the same. Her extensive knowledge of the world might be linked to her involvement with Lucil Filarete's design. She's a figure worthy of being called a witch or a sage.
