## Description
More than fifty years have passed since the Great War engulfing the whole world came to an end.
Yet civil wars and quarrels kept going on relentlessly.
At this point in time, there exists a vast peninsula known as Hasou, a land greatly affected by the War, abandoned by the authorities.
Here lies two existing factions, Son and Gotou, where the story takes place with their conflicts.

### Takaya (タカヤ)
The protagonist of main chapters.
Being a war orphan, he lived in a Users Sheltering Facility from the Son Faction around the age of 10. These facilities have a purpose of isolating the Users instead of protecting them, so he spent the majority of his teenage years in an unsociable environment. Due to certain problematic conducts he had with the facility, he became determined to move to the 8th Training School.
His personal robot Lui had been his lifelong partner long before he joined the facility.

A mysterious girl who self proclaims as a ghost from over half a century ago.
She seems to have been living in the 8th Training School for a long time, although nobody really knows about her full background when she never tells anyone. Because she has been hiding from people and avoiding any contact with them, when Takaya found her, her remarks about everything around her were extremely out of place.
She is considerably well-acquainted with the nature of Users, despite never being a User herself.

### Imachi Tsukuyo (居待月夜)
A girl who got assigned to the 8th Training School at roughly the same time Takaya joined.
Before then, she belonged to the 4th Unit lead by one of the Hakkenshi, but after his disappearance endorsed by the Gotou Faction, along with repeated battles, the 4th Unit has been completely destroyed. She is the lone survivor from that unit, being a lower class non-combatant then.
Because the 4th Unit is one of the strongest groups combat-wise under Son's leadership, her ideology is also greatly affected by them, which leads her to being a greatly athletic-minded combatant.
[spoiler]In reality, she belonged to a 3rd party unit from the Mainland, with her sisters as members, that killed off the 4th Unit. She joined Hachiren as a spy, with a mission given by her sisters to gather information.[/spoiler]

### Lui (ルイ)
A personal robot who has been with Takaya for as long as he could remember. Her main objective is to protect him. Living with Takaya, she has also been both a mother figure and a sister figure to him.
Although she has far more advanced conversational and learning functions than other combat-type androids, her main body is not designed for combat. There is only her right arm modified to be useable for military equipment usage. Over time, various parts of her body are also wearing out.

### Seika (瀬夷花)
A girl who has been spending more than two years living in the 8th Training School.
She is a strong-willed person with actual combat experience, although she is not confident about her own abilities. She is seen as a prodigy who can do anything, but does not have any specific strong points. Souga remarks that she is a "Jack of all trades, master of none," which fairly concerns her.

### Yashiro Ichigaku (屋代一楽)
A boy who spent his teenage days in the same facility as Takaya. He is one of the few people besides Lui that has known Takaya since childhood.
His strong point is tinkering with machines and gun customizing, although he is miraculously awful at everything else. As a User, his abilities are rather limited to only gun manipulation. He proclaims himself a sniper.

### Kasumi Ryouto (佳澄良人)
A member of Son Faction's 3rd Unit. He is a User with the title "Forecaster." He plays a central role in the unit, being the head commander in military operations. On the other hand, he deals with daily trivial works in a rather unserious manner, similar to Tokage.
He has known Tomika since long before they joined the 3rd Unit, and they seem very intimate according to everyone around them.

### Momoishi Moka (百石モカ)
A member of the 8th Training School. She is not under the teachings of Souga, but rather a User assigned as a security guard using a system through her rare ability.
Her ability is not meant for combat, but she is still the second most powerful person in the Training School, under Souga. She also takes on a leadership role like Souga.
Being a calm, gentle person, she almost never feels a sense of tension, even in combat. To make the most of her ability, she spends most of her time on the rooftop.

### Souga (蒼芽)
One of the eight members in the Hakkenshi, a group of the most powerful users. Because of his tricky fighting style and his quirky nature, he also has the nickname Magician. At the 8th Training School where he is the leader, he orders his trainees to call him Master.
He is the master of a mysterious fighting technique called Souga Style, but this is originally a technique from the ancient times, so it is unknown whether he invented it or not. Souga might not even be his real name, when various people in many places gave him different titles.

### Tokage (渡影)
One of the three Hakkenshi that still remains in Son Faction other than Son and Souga. He is the leader of the 3rd Unit, which is the main active military force of the faction. He has a composed character but lacks attention to details. He often leaves all delicate works for his subordinates like Ryouto or Tomika to take care of. Perhaps because of his unserious nature, he gets along well with Souga, or rather tries to compete with him on a daily basis.
His full name is Tokage Gojuushisanshirou, but it is too long so everyone just calls him Tokage.
