## Description
Five hundred years ago, angered by humanity's sins and arrogance, God recalled his Angels from Earth and the surface was consumed by Chaos. The last person who still prayed to God, the first Saint Irene, asked for his forgiveness. God listened to her prayers and lifted the city and land around her to save humanity from extinction. As the last bastion of humanity, the city of Novus Aether floats in the sky above the inhospitable surface, powered by the daily prayers of the Saint. More than a decade ago, due to the interruption of the prayer, the "Gran Forte" occurred, causing part of the city to fall to the surface and splitting the lower city in two.

In time, the lowest layer became the dwelling of all kinds of low-lives, people who lost much of their former lives during the "Gran Forte," becoming known as the "Prison." However, a contagious disease that causes people to grow wings has spread throughout the city. A special unit has been formed to deal with these people swiftly.

In this "Prison" resides Caim Astraea, a freelance ex-assassin who does odd jobs for his friends for money, refusing jobs that require him to kill people. During one request, Caim finds a girl who contracts the wing-disease, enveloped in a light that reminds Caim of the "Gran Forte" years ago...

### Caim Astraea (カイム・アストレア)
Fate dealt Caim Astraea a cruel hand when the Grand Forte (Great Collapse) tore him from his family and thrust him into the unforgiving "Prison." There, his pretty-boy looks nearly condemned him to a life of servicing clients in a brothel. Fortune, however, had other plans.

The leader of the "Incorrosive Gold Chain" spotted Caim's potential, molding him into a lethal assassin. This twist of fate not only saved him from an unwanted profession but armed him with formidable skills. Caim's forte? A pair of non-reflective knives he wields with deadly grace, leaving most opponents out of their depth.

When the Chain's leader passed, Caim struck out on his own. Now he keeps the red-light district in line and takes odd jobs to pay the bills. Ironically, his aloof demeanor only fuels his popularity among the working girls he once nearly joined.

Life in the slammer, however, left its mark beyond his combat prowess. It buried his mother's mantra of "everyone's born with a purpose" under the weight of countless senseless deaths. These days, Caim scoffs at notions of fate and meaning, seeing them as sugarcoated pills for life's bitter realities.

### Colette Anastasia (コレット・アナスタシア)
The 29th saint who presides over the faith of the Saint Irene Church, the sole religious institution in Novus Aether. Commonly known as the "Blind Saint," she stands out for her exceptional popularity among all saints, residing in the grand cathedral's sanctuary in the Upper District. Irene ascended to her role after the previous saint was executed for taking responsibility for the "Great Collapse."

Despite becoming blind shortly after her inauguration due to severe fever, she strangely regains her sight within the sanctuary. Irene is filled with faith yet embodies youthful competitiveness and stubbornness, steadfastly adhering to her convictions. She frequently clashes with the high priest, leading to a notably strained relationship. Her attendant, [url=/c542]Laviria[/url], often bears the brunt of her harshness.

Despite her high learning ability, particularly in chess, where she ensures she does not repeat mistakes, Caim always seems to best her. Caim and Iris critique her for having talent but being overly simplistic in her approach.

### Eris Floralia (エリス・フローラリア)
Eris is a gorgeous woman who serves as the only female doctor in a red-light district, garnering high respect from many. Her medical expertise is unquestionable, yet she modestly charges just enough to get by.

Seven years ago, when she was nearly sold into prostitution, Caim stepped in and took her under his wing. After completing her medical education four years later, Caim asked her to live a free life without him, but she refused. As a compromise, she now lives in a different house and visits Caim's house regularly to cook and do laundry. However, Eris is a lousy cook and not particularly good at housework. Nevertheless, she is good at concocting medicines.

Eris doesn't take kindly to any woman getting close to Caim, especially Tia, who filled her shoes in Caim's house and took over cooking duties, whom Eris refers to as 'little critter'.
