The coat of arms was carved in the likeness of dragons and angels, the protectors of the kingdom. The kingdom's history was said to span several thousand years, the faith of the denizens in the reigning king and queen strong and the entire island enjoyed the embrace of peace. However over a decade ago, demons suddenly appeared and attacked the kingdom. The Knightly chapters were annihilated by the demons' powerful magic. The King and Queen were killed and the capital was felled by flames in just one night. The archdemon who attacked the kingdom styled herself the "Progenitor Demon". The archdemon proclaimed the island would be ruled by her loyal subordinates, the five "Witches". Now, the island is under the witches' control. The five witches are beings possessing great power, the island's denizens are cowed by the witches' intimidating powers. The witches have ruled for over a decade, but none of them age nor weaken. If anything their powers continue to grow. People think that making a contract with the Witches and the demons would allow one to gain eternal life and magic powers. Those who opposed these beings who were effectively demons found their numbers dwindling, until the island's denizens resigned themselves to the witches' cruel reign. Gilbert, a man who hunts demons for a living yet has command over demonic powers, ventures forth onto Regulus island to hunt the demons who have possessed the Five Witches as well as the Archdemon who dominates them. He wears a black mantle in addition to his black outfit and wields a sword with a crimson blade. He is a "Demonslayer", a warrior who specialises in exterminating demons. Over a decade ago, his sister Alise and his mother were brutally massacred by the demon Zenohemia. Since then, he has embarked on his journey motivated solely by the thought of revenge against Zenohemia. Before his arrival on the island, his reputation as a skilled demonslayer precedes him as his sobriquets "Demon Eater" and "Master of the Seven Demons" on the continent attest to. For the most part, he is gruff and rarely shows emotion. His taciturn disposition frequently leads to misunderstandings. However, he has immense hatred for demons and his fury towards them openly manifests when he's face to face with them. [Spoiler] Growing up in the monastery together with his sister Alise and Carla, his first dream was to be a Paladin of Lasfarr so that he could protect all of those he loved. When he was young, he would pick fights with boys stronger than he was because he could not stand bullying. When his family was massacred by Zenohemia, he abandoned his faith and ran away from the monastery. Shortly after he met his Master who instructed him in the arts of the Demonslayers. He was also told of his half-demon heritage and how he could control its impulses. The seven Demons he holds mastery over are: 1. Longsword. Without this he cannot slay demons in his human form. 2. Clothes. He can strip naked or go fully clothed at the snap of his fingers. The demons within give him a measure of protection against freezing cold. 3. Book. The Supreme Demon's Tome (魔神王の書) allows him to banish demons to the void without harming the vessel. Nio is bound to the tome and her history with Gil goes back many years. 4. Dagger. A minor demon with little magic and no personality inhabits this weapon. Gil originally made a contract with it because its one talent was extraordinary sensitivity to other Demons in the vicinity. Although Gil no longer relies on it as much as his early days, he orders the Demon to keep Norn alive after she is fatally injured by Veronica. Although the contract remains valid, Norn inherits the demon's special ability and remains more sensitive to demonic presence than Gil is. 5. Water Demon. A tiny demon resembling a slime. Extremely minor and with hardly any mana presence. Its special ability is rapid absorption upon contact of water to form a large flotation device. Gil never learned to swim as he can't fight demons when underwater, so he made a contract with this demon in the unlikely event he would be thrown into deep water. 6. Horse. Chimerius, the Night Runner, is a Greater Demon in the shape of an enormous stallion. When Gil defeated Chimerius the latter asked about the Tome and how Gil obtained it. After hearing his story and his motives, Chimerius offered to contract with Gil at extremely favourable terms (Greater Demons demand much for their services, Chimerius simply asked Gil to sleep with a different woman at least once a month) in exchange for helping him defeat Zenohemia. He sacrificed himself to save Gil when encountering Zenohemia's avatar, but his spirit merely returned to the demon world where he continues to watch over Gil. The contract mark manifests itself as tattoos on Gil's forearms and his summoning totem is a wooden horse head. 7. Gil's half-demon blood. Because of his father's heritage, Gil has a demon of his own. When Gil's Master identified this, he recommended Gil form a contract with his bloodline. This helped quell the violent urges he faced as a child, and for a limited time he can assume demonic form which increases his powers considerably but leaves him drained of mana and requiring rest for at least three days. Most human demonslayers cannot form contracts with more than one demon at the same time. Gil can do so because of his heritage. Depending on player actions, Gil may be killed in battle and the island overrun by Zenohemia's demons. If he succeeds in obtaining his revenge, he can either continue making a living on the island or chooses to be banished to the void like all of the other demons he vanquished over his career. One of the five witches handpicked by the demon Zenohemia over a decade ago, in addition to her demonic powers she is capable of wielding the magic of the dragon language unique to her race. Appearance-wise she looks no older compared to Gilbert and his party, however the Draconid race has a much longer lifespan than humans so she's really much older than Gilbert and his party. She has a gentle personality and always speaks to others as equals. She does have a mischievous streak and is fond of teasing others. She is expanding her kin's sphere of influence by attacking the villages near Thunder Dragon Mountain. [Spoiler] At a young age she exhibited the genetic regression marked by a handful of Draconids. Not only did she overcome the usual fate of Draconids who regressed into evil dragons, she chose to remain as a Draconid rather than ascend as a Dragon and replenish the ranks of the species which could not naturally reproduce. As she was the first example of her kind, the rest of her kin treat her with deferential respect. In addition to her superb martial ability, she was appointed as Head Warrior of her village at a young age succeeding her disgraced Master and predecessor. Despite her power and status amongst her kin, Zenohemia bested her during the demonic invasion. She was bestowed with demonic possession and led a group of young Draconids into frequent raids of neighbouring human cities and villages. She swears absolute loyalty to those who can best her in combat, so Zenohemia and later Gil are the focus of her unquestionable allegiance. Despite her slightly childlike demeanour and off-hand manner of speech, she is more astute than she appears and acknowledged the Draconids could never rule over humans despite their overwhelming martial prowess. After she is exorcised, she resumes her former service to the Regulus royal family. A sacred enforcer of the church responsible for special missions. (Her brief primarily covers the pacification of demons and heretics in the outer reaches of Church territory and lands not under the sway of the Church's influence. It's also the department which the Church assigns its troublemakers to.) She's known Gilbert from childhood as they both attended the same monastery. She has a strong sense of justice coupled with an assertive character and a blunt personality. She's extremely pretty and turns heads where she goes, but her personality has disappointed many a suitor. Despite being a paladin, she has a contract with a demon and the power she gains from it is embedded in the sword "Vigenritt" which she wields. Although a practitioner of holy magic, she's not good with healing spells. [Spoiler] Although a childhood friend of Gil and who's had a crush on him since young, she did not see him again after he ran away from the monastery until he had become a full-fledged Demonslayer and herself a fully qualified paladin. Although she worked alongside him on a professional basis, he would use every opportunity to run away from her after the contract ended and she would end up pursuing him in tandem with her duties. She has two missions on Regulus island: the first one is to identify the origin of the mysterious horn left behind by one of her fellow paladins who went missing on the island not long before she arrived. The second one is to apprehend the culprit behind a series of child abductions on the Continent, suspected of fleeing to Regulus island after slipping through the blockade laid by the Lasfarr church during the last engagement. She derives immense pleasure from being verbally abused by Gil during sex, which he uses as an opportunity to sexually train her to his liking. She keeps many of the old behavioural habits she had when both Gil and her were children, which annoys Gil to the extent he will take it out on her during their sexual trysts. Tomoe's younger sister. Although the gap between them is three years, appearance-wise Hijiri looks much more mature. A black-haired beauty, her elegent character belies a strictness both at herself and at others. Although extremely serious to the point of inflexible stubbornness, she has a weakness for sweets. She adores her older sister Tomoe above all else, so she'll do anything for Tomoe even it kills her. Also, she's merciless to anyone who would intend harm to Tomoe. [Spoiler] From a young age, Hijiri has always felt she was inferior to her older sister Tomoe. Tomoe's skill in the literary and martial arts marked her out as a worthy successor to the Tatenomiya family who ruled over Garyou, Hijiri despite her best efforts never felt she was capable of equalling her sister's achievements and chose the path of the Miko both to develop her own path and to quell the intense feelings of jealousy she harboured over Tomoe. When Tomoe was granted demonic possession by Zenohemia, Hijiri was initially happy her seemingly perfect sister had finally been brought to earth. However, Tomoe's character did not change much after possession and Zenohemia was forced to deploy another demon to oversee Tomoe's proxy rule. The younger brother of Tomoe's demon was chosen to possess Hijiri, taking advantage of the darkness in her heart to easily control her thoughts and actions. Because Tomoe did not actively oppress her subjects and was only intent on seeking out and slaying the island's best warriors, Hijiri's demon devised a tournament whereby worthy contestants were lured by the false premise of wealth and glory sponsored by Garyou's corrupt nobles and merchants. What awaited the winner was a duel to the death with the demonically possessed Tomoe, none of whom had ever survived until Gil's party arrived. Hijiri commissioned Gil and his party to kill Tomoe during the annual tournament, although the real intent was to remove the older demon inhabiting Tomoe, allowing Hijiri's demon to rule alone and gain credit for delivering Gil's head to Zenohemia. After exorcism, Hijiri obeys Tomoe's wish to atone for their sins and fight together with Gil and his party. She employs the magic arts of the Miko to harm and destroy demons. The sole survivor of the royal family annihilated by Zenohemia and the five witches over a decade ago, a beautiful princess with blond hair and blue eyes. Now she lives in hiding somewhere on the island together with a small group of followers and her personal guard. She deeply despises the demon Zenohemia who destroyed her kingdom and massacred her family, she contemplates hiring Gilbert to achieve her goal of annihilating the demons on the island. Although naive to the ways of the world, she's certainly not arrogant nor uppity. A generous and forbearing soul. [Spoiler] She survived the destruction of the royal palace during the demonic invasion and has lived on the run ever since. She has never lost hope of restoring her family's reign, when Gil arrives on the island and begins to make a name for himself defeating the previously indomitable witches she makes an active attempt to approach him for aid despite her adviser's warnings over the demon slayer's nature. She has suffered from vivid nightmares ever since she survived the razing of the palace. Later on it is revealed the nightmares are supernaturally induced. After Zenohemia is defeated, she commissions Gil and his party to sweep the site of the old palace which has been overrun by monsters. In addition, Gil is to find the royal seal which for generations has symbolised the legitimacy of the Constan family's reign. Despite repeatedly proposing Gil marry her and/or take up the position of head of the royal household guard, she is rebuffed each time. She eventually resigns herself to Gil leaving the island one day but swears no matter who she marries for political reasons her heart will always be his. A stunning high-class lady with blond hair and olive skin. She is somewhat unorthodox compared to the other witches which Zenohemia finds amusing. Zenohemia made her a subordinate on account of her unfathomable spirit which Zenohemia found interesting and rates highly. She has a classy air stemming from her wealthy upbringing and polite manner of speech. However, her personality is a mixture of innocence and cruelty. [Spoiler] The only daughter of the Schanz crime family, she was born sickly and was bedridden for much of her childhood. During this time, she felt no joy for the outside world despite the best efforts of her father's subordinates to tell her of the world outside. When Zenohemia singled her out as a candidate for demonic possession, she did not hesitate as the demon's powers would enable her to leave her bedridden past for good. To Zenohemia's surprise, Loretta's strong will and mental strength was so formidable the demon meant to possess her was instead subjugated under her control. Zenohemia found this amusing and ordered Loretta to oversee Schutral city, she was also ordered to participate in the battle for the royal palace during the demonic invasion. Using the demon's strength, Loretta expanded her family's influence throughout the entire city through a mixture of brute force and covert subterfuge. As her goals did not conflict with Zenohemia's objectives, she was happy to follow orders so long as it suited both sides. Having achieve all she wanted with the powers given to her by demonic possession, she now sought a partner to stay by her side and rule the city together. Once she laid eyes on Gil stepping forth on the southern port of Regulus island, she knew she'd found the perfect match. Loretta is the only one of the Witches Gil does not exorcise, since doing so would return Loretta to her weakened and bedridden state which she outright refused. She manages to get her way by cooperating with Gil's party as they hunt out the demonic cult head and by betraying Zenohemia. After Gil lost one of his demons, she offered to contract with him instead as a sign of her fealty to him. As the only remaining Witch, Loretta can use her talents of stealth and assassination to aid Gil's party. As her contract with Gil remains valid even after Zenohemia's death, she interprets this as a marriage contract and is willing to wait as long as it takes for Gil to change his mind and build a future with her together. One of the five witches handpicked by the demon Zenohemia over a decade ago. A shaman capable of controlling the four great spirits at will, she's also skilled in the creation and control of golems as well as the magics written in ancient languages. She has the appearance of a young girl because her body stopped ageing after she was bestowed with demonic possession. Although occasionally assertive, she's usually calm and level-headed. She sees matters with a detached air and a panoramic viewpoint. She collects humans she takes a liking to from nearby towns and villages and confines them in her mansion (which she calls her "Castle") whereby the captives are treated like slaves. [Spoiler] A child prodigy with elemental magic, she grew up in wealth and privilege. This changed when Zenohemia came and bestowed her with demonic possession. Her parents fled the family home and she was left alone in the giant mansion. Because of this, she frequently conscripts good-looking villagers to work for her. As a result of her demonic possession, she would callously kill any who earned her displeasure. After Gil and his party defeat and exorcise her, she is willing to atone for her crimes at the villagers' hands but Norn takes pity on her and requests she fight together with Gil's party to atone for her past sins. She accepts the offer and quickly establishes herself as the "brains" of the party, capable of analysing and solving complex problems. Although she lost her demonic powers, her latent talent with elemental magic remained intact allowing her to fight demons with the help of summoned spirits. She eventually finds and reconciles with her parents, but she chooses not to live with them even after Zenohemia has been defeated. As a mark of gratitude towards Gil for all he's done for her, she swears she will remain a demonslayer by his side for as long as she's alive. Over a decade ago, she lost her parents when Zenohemia and the five witches destroyed Regulus island and its kingdom. Since then, she runs an apothecary in the town of Ferio together with her sister Marta. Always smiling and possessing a bright disposition unfazed by anything, her personality compels her to reach out to people in need. For the most part she is positive and has an optimistic mindset, but once she's depressed she remains stuck in a rut. She loathes the demon (Veronica) who killed her parents and has been training in secret to avenge her parents. Upon meeting Gilbert, she leaves town and goes on a journey to aid those oppressed by the demons. An extremely good cook, her pack is crammed with an immense number of cooking utensils which she justifies as "essential equipment for adventuring" [Spoiler] After Gil killed Schtoll, Veronica appeared and pierced Norn's heart with a magic attack. As she lay dying, Gilbert performed a ritual over her which transferred his dagger demon into her to keep her alive. While she was unconscious, she dreamed about Gil's past and his first encounter with Zenohemia. After regaining consciousness, Gil gave her the choice of living on with demonic possession, or dying as a human after he removed the demon keeping her alive. She chose to live, and resolved to travel together with Gilbert as an apprentice demonslayer. Nio speculates Gil is especially soft towards Norn because he sees her as a reflection of himself during Zenohemia's attack and of his lost younger sister Alise. Indeed, her face is the first thing which comes to mind when he wavers about leaving the world for good. Because she is demonically possessed, she does not require special weapons or abilities to harm demons. The dagger previously inhabited by Gil's demon is gifted to her as her first weapon. The demon who saved her life was extremely weak, had almost no sense of self and never spoke to Gil while contracted to him. Because of this she is never at any risk of the demon taking control over her. Instead, she inherits the demon's ability to sense others of its kind and she is frequently employed as the party's "demon radar" as she can smell demons from long distances. Her adventures with Gil's party allow her to roam Regulus island and cook all of the exotic dishes listed in her thick cookbook tome. Her dream after the island is liberated of demons is to open a restaurant with her sister Marta, but Gil tells her she can only do this after she is human again, or else her eternal youth thanks to demonic possession will draw unwanted attention from the Church. She resolves to accompany Gil when he finally returns to the Continent to look for a skilled exorcist capable of reconstructing her destroyed heart in addition to exorcising Gil's dagger demon. The bishop of the "Zerchion" cult, headquartered in Schutral city and expanding its influence outwards. Appearance-wise she looks the oldest, her measured demeanour gives others the sense of calmness befitting her age and an air of tolerance. Her mature body with its sensuous voluptuousness conveys an adult sex appeal despite her priestess vocation. She usually speaks with a gentle and calm voice befitting a bishop, however she never betrays her innermost thoughts. [Spoiler] She approaches Gil's party shortly after they arrive at Schutral. She attempts to commission them to assassinate Loretta, but she is rejected as they do not wish to get involved in the city's internecine politics. She wins over Gil eventually using sex, but the party also learns that the cult she is a member of has a poor reputation both within and without the city. Although Pamela herself is a decent person wishing to do good for the city through Loretta's assassination, the archbishop she is blindly devoted to turns out to be possessed by the demon sent by Zenohemia to monitor Loretta. After learning the truth, she resolves to join Gil's party as she becomes convinced Gil is the messenger of God and that working with him is to abet His will. Born with a unusually strong libido, Pamela is grateful the church of Lasfarr has a tolerant attitude towards sex. She has no qualms in offering her body to those who desire her, believing this act to be the greatest expression of love embodied by her religion. She is the only member in Gil's party capable of exorcising demons if Gil chooses not to use his Tome. One advantage she has over Gil is the ability to handle many victims at once, although this costs money to buy the required materials for mass exorcism and is very draining on Pamela spiritually. Regardless, she will choose exorcism over execution no matter how evil the possessed person was, like the Witches who now fight alongside Gilbert she believes every person deserves a chance at atonement and salvation. A girl whose emotional state is extremely difficult to read because of her taciturn disposition and dispassionate tone of speech. She possesses immense strength despite her slender appearance and expertly wields a blade taller than she is. She's not interested in anything except training her body and mind, her character has hardly changed since she was bestowed with demonic possession over a decade ago. She will swing her blade ruthlessly and mercilessly against anyone she sees as a foe. [Spoiler] Talented with the sword and literary arts from a young age, Tomoe was expected to be one of the great Tatenomiya clan heads when she came of age. Tomoe herself was devoted to the warrior arts and took great pleasure in battling strong opponents. After she and her clan lost to Zenohemia during the invasion, she was granted demonic possession and compelled to do Zenohemia's bidding. However, the demon who possessed her was just as obsessed about battle as she was which meant Tomoe never really oppressed her subjects. She spent most of her demonic possession holed up in her mansion, training at martial arts and looking for strong opponents to fight and slay. Exasperated at Tomoe's actions, Zenohemia sent a demon to possess Hijiri so that the black crystal under Tomoe would gather the negative emotions required to fulfil Zenohemia's scheme. Of the Five Witches, it was unanimously agreed that in a one-on-one duel Tomoe was the strongest and most formidable of them all. Hijiri's original plan to defeat Tomoe after Gil had won the tournament was to keep the other party members fresh until such time as an opportunity would present itself allowing them to join in battle against Tomoe. After her demon was exorcised, Tomoe vowed to lend her blade to Gil's cause until vengeance could be exacted. Tomoe would thus atone for much of her sins when possessed. Tomoe is able to enchant her blade with Qi energy, which is strong enough to cut through steel and allows her to cut down demons despite the lack of an enchanted weapon. Outside of her role as head of household and liege lord, Tomoe knows nothing except fighting and cutting down the enemies arrayed before her. During complicated discussions involving magic and demons, Hijiri frequently tells her to stay silent as she cannot contribute anything meaningful to the discussion. Even after her demon is exorcised, she is more than happy to adopt a kill first, ask questions later approach to negotiations. On the full moon, she grows cat ears because of a curse laid upon her bloodline when one of her ancestors slew a cat demon. She is extremely weak to the local Garyou alcohol. The smell alone is enough to make her act completely out of the ordinary, Tomoe remembers nothing of it after she sobers up. In game, he serves as the shopkeeper and his inventory expands as the player progresses through the story. [Spoiler] Cornelio did not realise who Gil was initially, but after witnessing Schtoll's defeat at Gil's hand he realised he was looking at the Continent's famous demonslayer. Throughout the story, he has unshakeable faith that Gilbert will come good against the Witches. The ex-captain of the Lasfarr Paladin Goliath, he has retired from his ex-life and is a simple travelling merchant. When he meets his ex-subordinate again after Gil and his party defeat the paladin a second time, they talk about old times and the secret of Gil's newfound strength. [/Spoiler] - **Gender:** Male - **Hair:** Brown - **Role:** Secret Identity, Merchant ### Marta Kompany (マルタ　カンパーニ) Norn's older sister. They run an apothecary together in the town of Ferio. After their parents' deaths during the demonic invasion, they only have each other. When Marta is kidnapped by Schtoll's minions, Norn tries to rescue her but is beaten back. Before she can be overcome, she is nearly run over by Cornelio's cart with Gil inside. His intervention eventually leads to her rescue. When Norn resolves to leave Ferio and travel together with Gil, she reluctantly accepts having also learnt the truth about her younger sister. [Spoiler] Marta has a boyfriend, but is willing to give her body to Gil for one night in gratitude for saving her from Schtoll and for taking care of Norn through the course of the story. By the hot springs scene, Marta is willing to break up with her boyfriend and marry Gil together with her sister. It is not known to what extent she says this in jest, whether she's being serious or if Gil has been that successful in winning her over using his sex technique alone. She can sense how powerful a demon is by sight alone. Her knowledge of demons is broad, Gil frequently turns to her when he's unsure of the nature of foe faced. Those who meet for the first time frequently mistake her for a fairy because of her appearance. [Spoiler] Gil found the Supreme Archdemon's Tome in an abandoned shrine one day, and Nio has been contracted to him ever since. It's unknown what the terms of their contract is, but Nio lends her support to him unconditionally when it is time to exorcise demons. Although the forcefield created when Gil invokes the tome is strong, it can only be used after the target has been defeated in battle and is too weak to break free of its bindings. Before the tome can devour the demon, Gil has to break the demon's spirit and crush it utterly so that the tome can do its work. To that effect, Gil has figured out the fastest way to break a demon's spirit is to rape the vessel it inhabits. The combination of humiliation through sexual violation and any sexual pleasure unwantedly derived from the experience is sufficient to feed through to the demon residing within the host, rendering it vulnerable to the Tome's consumption of the demon from the host and its permanent banishment to the void. As Nio embodies the tome's power, she frequently comments on how tasty (or tasteless) the target demon is prior to its banishment. Nio has been with Gil for so long that she's used to his raging libido and indiscriminate seduction of the opposite sex. She does take umbrage if Gil turns his sexual attentions towards her though. When not doing "work", Nio spends her time chatting with Gil, his party members, eating and drinking her fill and generally having a good time at Gil's expense. Nio is contracted to both Gil and the Supreme Archdemon. In the event of conflicting orders between the two masters, it is the latter who takes precedence. When she binds Gil and prepares him for banishment, his decision determines whether or not she goes through with the Supreme Archdemon's will. If she does, she laments Gil's stubbornness and promptly vanishes together with the Tome, her purpose fulfilled. One of the five witches handpicked by demon Zenohemia over a decade ago. She holds dominion over the lycanthropes who inhabit Bars forest and its environs in the southern reaches of Legulus island. A magician of immense power, she specialises in flame and heat magic but is also capable of manipulating a wide variety of other spells. Her appearance is extremely sultry and sensuous. She transforms males she takes a liking to into lycanthropes under the control. Her favourite lycanthrope is possessed by a demon and serves as her right hand. (Currently the lycanthrope Schtoll has this honour). Before Zenohemia bestowed her with demonic possession, she was bullied in the village she lived in. She despises humans because of this. [Spoiler] The first witch Gil fights and defeats. After her demon is exorcised, Norn chooses not to kill her to take vengeance for her parents and chooses instead to take her to the nearest town for judgment. During her incarceration, the prison guards take turns to rape Veronica which feeds her hatred of humans. When Zenohemia gives her a second chance with a more powerful demon than the first one, she gleefully seizes her chance to escape captivity and take revenge against the rapist guards. If Gil falls during the Crimson Moon ritual, Veronica enjoys her vengeance against her former compatriots who betrayed Zenohemia. Veronica fights Gil and his party three times over the course of the game. After the third battle, she reaches her limit and collapses. Her fate is left unsaid, but it is assumed she dies either from her wounds or from drowning when the underground temple collapses on itself. Her personality is cruel and heartless. She sees all inferior lifeforms as her sustenance. She absorbs the "negative emotions", fear, hatred and despair borne from the hearts of other sentient beings and uses her unique ability to convert these emotions into her personal magic reserves. [Spoiler] Zenohemia has travelled the Continent looking for souls to prey on to restore her powers. On one such sojourn, she killed Gil's sister and mother and set him on the path of the Demonslayer in search of vengeance against her. Zenohemia has made enemies of other Greater Demons, notably Chimerius and the Supreme Archdemon. The former went so far as to contract with Gil in hopes of seeing a mere human bring about the demise of his hated foe, while the latter impregnated Gil's mother without her knowledge with the intent of cultivating Gil as the object of his vengeance. Zenohemia is quick to realise who Gil really is after seeing his demonic form during their second encounter. Zenohemia's scheme to use the Crimson Moon to summon the Slaw horde to overrun the island is just a cover for her true goal of obtaining the twin Angelic blades. Using the red blade, she receives a huge boost to her demonic powers, to the extent she proclaims she can overcome her hated nemesis the Supreme Archdemon. Zenohemia remembers the experiments of the Angels thousands of years ago and is consumed with hatred against Ekmas after he appears to reclaim the twin daggers. When he plunges the blue dagger into her, she loses her demonhood and is reduced to a mere human. Perhaps because of this, she reveals key information to Gil's party and offers them her shattered horn to use in a desperate attempt to stop the island from being destroyed by the Angels' failsafe mechanism. Depending on player choice, Gil either finishes her off before the island collapses or she escapes to shore after the ruins are destroyed and is found by the Princess's party and killed by her guards. In the latter case, Gil burns her body rather than allow the corpse be paraded around the island. When Gil's party accidentally discover the entrance to the ruins and venture inside, she attacks them and is only pacified when Gil strikes her on the head which resets her memory and leads to her acknowledging him as her new Master. Despite Mirabel's best efforts, the technology employed to create Unfini is beyond their complete understanding. What they do learn is Unfini has no need for sleep nor nourishment and can function by drawing ambient mana and converting it to energy in her internal systems. Perfect for a being created solely to maintain the Angels' multitude of experimental test subjects. As she travels with Gil's party, her amnesia is filled through experiences of the human world which conflicts with her ordered and logical thinking. She learns to prize these experiences and starts to comprehend the meaning of "desire". She and all of her peers are connected to a central network which periodically compels the golems to return to a maintenance station on the island for memory sharing, reset and repairs.
