## Description
A young vagabond with a mysterious past named Caprese, down on his luck, meets an old man who tells him of Icons, the essence of a person's spirit and determiner of their destiny. Remarkably, Caprese has no Icon of his own, having instead the ability to copy the Icon of those he meets. With the fairy Primo at his side he goes on a journey, using his power to try to obtain the Four Great Icons, as the one who possesses them may become Lord of the World, and Caprese finds himself at the centre of the eternal war between the powers of Light and Darkness.

The main protagonist of the story, a young vagabond with a mysterious past who aimlessly travels throughout the lands. His Arcana is the Fool.

### Risoluto (リソルート)
A nun with strange powers, known as the Eyes of the Hierophant. She works as a spy, as well as the Hierophant's chief Inquisitor, her ability to see into the hearts and minds of people very useful in both roles. Her Arcana is Judgement.

A treacherous man who constantly crosses Caprese's path, and says that they are like two sides of a mirror. Appears to be in league with the Meister. His Arcana is The Hanged Man.

### Amoroso (アモローソ)
A young and wealthy noblewoman distantly related to the Hierophant's family who rules a prosperous city that is a hub of trade. Orphaned at a young age she was raised by her family retainers to become a great noble lady, but she is bored with her life. She possesses one of the Four Great Icons, and her Arcana is the Empress.

### Analiese (アナリーゼ)
The niece of the Hierophant Hymnus, who is a lady ruling a major town. Since her late father was the elder brother of Hymnus, she should have become Hierophant instead, but she willingly gave up claims to the position to her uncle and confined herself to her town and library. She is a great intellectual and is one of the few who knows of the ancient lore of the Icons. Her Arcana is The High Priestess.

A pretty young peasant woman Caprese meets in his travels. A band of brigands is running a protection racket against her village and her parents are forced to send her to them as the village's tribute to them for the year. Her Arcana is The Sun.

The Grand Master of the Holy Order of Knights. In addition to defending the borders of the Hierophant's lands, she and her knights are also tasked with enforcing the rule of law in the land, and she is very strict when it comes to the Commandments of the god Mithras. Her Arcana is Justice.

### Grave (グラーベ)
A strange young woman, who appears to have murdered all the inhabitants of a village by poisoning their well. Her Arcana is Death.
[spoiler]She originally came to the village, seeking to be converted to the faith of Mithras after her gods did not answer her prayers for her dead husband, but the villagers, seeing her as one of the enemy. gang-raped her, and thus having lost her sanity, she murdered them all. She is naked underneath her cloak and uses a poisoned scythe.[/spoiler]

The Hierophant of Mithras, and father of Harp. In addition to being head of the Mithraic religion he is also the sovereign monarch ruling the lands where most of the story takes place. He is deeply concerned with Caprese's progress and tries to see to it that he is directed toward the path of the Light. His Arcana is obviously the Hierophant.

He is actually the elder brother of  the Hierophant Hymnus, and father of Analiese, who abandoned the succession in favour of his younger brother. He saved the infant Caprese and his twin.

[spoiler]It turns out that she is long dead, and her ghost, tormented by being unable to accept the death of her husband in a long-ago war, is being manipulated by Tombeau and Dominante to drive Caprese into despair so they can take the Icons he has gathered so far.[/spoiler]
