## Description
Mayonaka Garan is set in the rural Japanese village of Daiusu, where a community of Christians has lived in seclusion for many generations. Hamomoru Tachibana is invited to this village as a guest. The village has just finished building its long-dreamed-of cathedral, and the mood is celebratory. The villagers wish to use this moment to enter the modern world of the 1920s. As part of this, Hamomoru is tasked with archiving the history and legends of Daiusu. 

Located in a secluded part of Japan, the village, due to a long history of oppression, has seen its faith take a peculiar turn.
The Faith of the Saint.
The villagers have come to project their hopes for salvation onto a "Saint" who came from the outside world.

This tradition of treasuring friendly visitors seems perfectly suited to modernizing the village.
And yet.
Just as the village begins to come together, a restless shroud still hangs over it. Individual motives begin to clash, and miracles occur as if to make a mockery of everything...

What will become of Daiusu's attempt to enter the wider world?

### Tachibana Hamomoru (橘　はももる)
A pastor from the Tohoku region. Invited to Daiusu to study the history of the village. Very dedicated and friendly, though a bit softhearted. And she'll never say no to a bit of good food!

### Akai Shoujo (赤い少女)
A mysterious girl in red. Acts in a very refined manner, and is revered by some of the villagers, but she wanders the village, sometimes as if she's searching for something.

- **Voiced by:** Suganuma Chisa

### Daiusu Jyuan (大臼　寿安)
The son of the village chief. A born leader, and dedicated to modernizing the village. Attracted to the idea of joining the modern world, he sets a strong pace for himself and the villagers, but seems cold, at times, to people deep in the village's faith.

### Okada Kurosu (岡田 黒州)
Pastor of Daiusu Village. Collects texts on theology, and interested in understanding faith. He is the village's religious center, and yet he takes a distant attitude to everyone, eyes downcast in sorrow.

### Shiroi Shoujo (白い少女)
A mysterious girl in white. She appears, and disappears, like a ghost.
