## Description
Torn from her home, an unfortunate soul finds herself caught in an old and buried secret. The virulent elves who claim the poison within her have imprisoned her on their stormy island, some eager to see what will become of her, others eager to keep their secrets safe. 

She finds an array of allies, even as she's hunted, and she will perhaps even find a lover. Her whole life she had been hidden. Now, unfurled before her, as the harbinger of something terrible and great, she finds Gha'alia.

## Characters
### Alenca Goffil
The main character is the player character and primary protagonist of Ebon Light.

At age nine, the main character's father, Koris, passed away, leaving her in the care of her shrewd aunt Vanya. Despite the circumstances and Vanya's initial vague reluctance, the main character appears to have been well taken care of by Vanya.

Like her name and appearance, the main character's personality is completely determined by the player and their decisions. During initial customization, the player can choose to give the main character one of three personality types: Charm, Cunning, and Tenacity.

The Charm personality type is described as "attractive and likable", the Cunning personality type is described as "clever and observant", and the Tenacity personality type is described as "resilient and determined". In certain situations, each personality will determine the extended actions available to the player.

One often forgets that Gha’alia is home to more than dark figures clad in iron and hide. It is the notion of many young Gha’alian soldiers that their dark world runs solely on the sway of their sword, forgetting entirely that there always has been, and always must be, the presence of commerce on their sullen little isle. Duliae is an esteemed figure, unique in this status among generals, tacticians and swordsmen. He has spent many long years cultivating trade lines and pumping blood into Gha’alia’s economy, an uphill battle if ever there was one in a place such as this. It would take a relentless, tenacious, cunning man determined to succeed, and Duliae has, splendidly. He is very wealthy, very well connected, and very untrustworthy. (From official site)

Some people take strangeness in stride, but others find little worse than being outside the commonplace. Ernol was born in the middle of an interfamily war of wills, an instant pawn in a game he had no interest in playing. His tale is not of overbearing expectation or unforgiving duty, when in fact these are the things which he bitterly craves. Instead of being born to the demanding General with his high stakes, strict rules, and fierce demands, Ernol was born to the prodigal son. He did not take to this, admiring his grandfather more than his father, wishing to be a warrior more than an outcast. Haron is a master of capitalizing. He takes the hand he’s dealt and makes the most of it, all the while seeming to thrive no matter what way he’s forced to adapt. A critic might say it would be easy to roll with the punches when your lot in life is wealth, power and infamy, but Haron isn’t concerned with justifying much of anything. He sees the world in his own particular way, and uses his means to achieve personal goals which other Gha’alians perceive as frivolous or pointless. It’s been considered that were Haron to ever set his sights on a larger scheme, he might be a force to be reckoned with; eerily capable of talking, buying, manipulating, bribing and threatening his way in and out of all manner of things, but (thankfully?) his concerns have always been personal and self serving. ### Laceaga Darhal
Were one to ask after Laceaga among his superiors and peers, they would likely have nothing remarkable to say, unless they were to find his particular demeanor insulting, or happened to have great admiration for skill with a bow. Laceaga has had a few minorly impressive moments in his military career, but nothing which sent ripples through the Forces, just enough prestige to get him saddled with a scouting partner like Vadeyn Milirose. Laceaga seems unbothered by his slow advancement, as though this too is a calculation. For all intents and purposes, Laceaga is an ideal soldier. He relies on intimidation and aggression to get his way, unconcerned with little beyond serving the Forces and living a quiet life. He does have a few curious connections with the Onyx Chandler, and some might say he keeps himself too closed off from his peers, but no one is concerned about Laceaga, and that suits him just fine. ### Vadeyn Milirose
The loveliest bloom comes from a barren garden, but so unaware of itself, so surrounded by prickles and weeds, it will either think itself no better, or think itself hopelessly lost. The mystery of how Vadeyn managed to cultivate such a soft heart in such an unforgiving atmosphere, no less how it has managed to remain uncrushed in the six decades Vadeyn has been alive, is a thing that’s piqued the interest and ire of many. He is, they will say, surely destined for tragedy; eventually to be consumed by the pressure, or snuffed out by it. However, Vadeyn has no interest in complete surrender just yet. His is a quiet-perhaps ridiculous-optimism, which nets him a few friends, and quite a few enemies. He has become self sufficient, prone to dreaming, and forced on occasion to become uncomfortably bold, for he has a vivid sense of nobility and grace. (From official site)

Calipoa Milirose is a newly appointed commander in the First Division of the Forces, under the rule of her uncle, General Faelain. To say that her ascension was at all due to familial favoritism would be a grave mistake: there have been few who've mastered a sword as fast as she, and fewer still who couple this skill with drive and presence.

Calipoa is the only daughter of Reklien and Aliwiel Milirose; Aliwiel the second eldest princess of the reigning Liorian King and Queen, and Reklien the second eldest son of Gawloyes and Mietwen Milirose. Although one's pedigree often means little in Gha'alia, she is undeniably a pride to her family, and given the status of her family, a pride to all of Gha'alia.

### Ecarae Falei
The Mask Ecarae Falei is typical seeming, among his brethren, in that his uncomfortable stares and slithering tone are commonplace for Masks. He works particularly close with former Mask Commander Mietwen, and has had many successful deployments in his increasingly prestigious career.
His current Mask Commander thinks he shows great potential as an assassin, though the truth is, his successful deployments were not always successful. Though he has hidden it well, he has, many times in the past, rearranged the terms of his deployments to better suit his personal needs... and he has, at times, avoided certain dangers, certain risks, that threaten his safety.

His mother is still alive, ashort-tempered former scout, retired after a leg injury, now a baker. He has a sister as well, but he sees neither her or their mother frequently. he lives alone. He is adept in poisons and finds the study of behavior and altered behavior fascinating.(from the in-game compendium).

Grand General of the Gha'alian Forces, Gawloyes Milirose, is an intimidating, fierce, and clever elf. Born in 746V age has made him no less fierce or hesitant to plunge himself personally into battle, traits that have certainly not gone unappreciated among his subordinates. He is a wildly celebrated elf often single handedly charged with guiding the direction of his country; the 'true king' of Gha'alia, some are even so bold to claim.

Despite having achieved the very highest status among his people he remains ambitious. A certain unnerving perseverance and unrelenting aggression inspire ferocity in the many who follow his lead, where his wisdom and largely successful record inspire faith and loyalty. For this, he regards his position with utmost pride and should the day ever come, he by no means intends to retire peacefully.(from official site)

Instead, Skylar prowls the upper echelons of Gha’alia’s wealthy; a small little subculture of powerful pariahs failing or rebelling against Gha’alian status quo, bolstered by their financial means, or their woeful necessity. She seems a perky, bright-eyed young woman; but she is keenly aware of what subtle things go on around her, and most certainly up to an agenda of her own.(from official website)
