## Description
√Letter is the first entry in the publisher’s new series of mystery games. It’s a youth mystery adventure set in [Shimane Prefecture](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shimane_Prefecture) and features both adventure and simulation parts. [Minoboshi Tarou](/s7588), [Love Plus'](/v2099) character designer that left [Konami](/p77) in March, is handling character designs and planning. The scenario is being handled by [Fuji Dario](/s9667), and the music is by Nitta Takashi.

√Letter is set in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, where the protagonist arrives in search of [Fumino Aya](/c43187), a pen pal friend from high school who had disappeared for 15 years. After he finds a letter dedicated to him from her that was never sent, he sets out to interrogate her classmates as he wonders if everything Aya had told him had been a lie. The game contains multiple endings based on the player's choices throughout the game.

A man who lives in Tokyo. 15 years ago, although he had good will towards his pen pal Aya Fumino, when there was no reply to his 10th letter, he began to hate her. 15 years later, he discovers a mysterious 11th letter, and visits Matsue in Shimane Prefecture in order to find her and learn the truth about what happened to her.

### Ishihara Yukari (石原 由香里)
A curator at the Shimane Art Museum.

[Spoiler]Her father works at a local advertising agency. Her mother works part-time at a diner. As a child, Yukari was always compared to her talented older sister and developed a complex. During high school, this was compounded by the fact that her sister attended a national university. Shiori was the first friend that she could confide in.[/spoiler] Presently she has a promising career at the art museum curating successful exhibits, but dealing with staff who are older (sarcastic middle-aged men) is putting a strain on her. ### Tanaka Kousuke (田中 耕介)
A man who works for the Matsue City Council Complaints Department. [spoiler]He refuses to talk about Aya Fumino, but his real identity appears to be the “Megane” (Four-Eyes) friend Aya wrote about in her letters. Although said to be the school’s utmost prodigy at the time, his grades began to fall after the summer of senior year in high school, and he didn’t make it into his university of choice. But he graduated from a nameless college, and although he holds down a steady job at City Hall, does not enjoy his life.[/spoiler] His favorite phrase is “~desu yo ne” (“isn’t it?”). He has a bit of a stutter and a polite tone when he speaks, but no confidence in himself. And he is not yet freed from the spell he fell under 15 years ago.

The fact that she didn't let him know that she only pretended to be Aya (that she lied) has bothered her all this time. She wants to see him, but she can't act on it.[/spoiler]
