## Description
In 2012, the world allegedly comes to an end at the hands of a "human-made" virus, ravaging the global populace and leaving only children under the age of thirteen untouched. It is at this time that vampires emerge from the recesses of the earth, likely followed by age-old horrors of the dark thought only to be myth. The vampires sweep the earth and claim it in a single violent stroke, subjugating the remnants of humanity and leading them beneath the surface to safety. This "protection" comes at the price of donating blood to their captors. At the age of twelve, Yuuichirou and his friend and fellow orphan Mikaela plotted to escape along with the children in Hyakuya Orphanage. However, this resulted in their deaths and Mikaela sacrifices himself in order for Yuuichirou to escape and be saved by members of the Moon Demon Company, an extermination unit of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. Four years later, Yuuichiro dedicates his life to destroy vampires and seek revenge against them for murdering his "family".

In the "dramatic tactics battle" game, the player's decisions throughout the game will change the ending. Players level up their bonds with comrades on the battlefield by raising their "family level." When the "family level" rank goes up, players experience a "family event" scene. Characters will get special endings if players build trust with them during battle.

## Characters
### Hyakuya Yuuichirou (百夜 優一郎)
Yuuichirou is the main protagonist of the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign series.

He is a member of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army and [url=/c39246]Hiiragi Shinoa's[/url] squad in the Moon Demon Company. He, along with [url=/c39561]Hyakuya Mikaela[/url] and a few others, possesses the seraph gene, which is relevant to the forbidden taboo and a focal point of the story Seraph of the End.

He is brave, fearless and somewhat reckless, not to mention hotblooded. Yuuichirou is often called an idiot by those who know him. He is a very narrow-minded person, whose only goal is to annihilate all vampires because of what they did to his "family," and he will overcome any type of challenge in order to accomplish it. He swore to exterminate all vampires for killing Mika.

Rather than revenge, his primary goal changes to protecting his new "family," in order to avoid a repeat of past events.

Similarly to how vampires do not bother to remember human faces and only think of them as "humans" or "livestock," Yuuichirou only sees vampires as "vampires" or "bloodsuckers" without bothering to remember their names or faces.

### Hiiragi Shinoa (柊 シノア)
Shinoa is the main female protagonist and is the younger sister of Hiiragi Mahiru. She was appointed as [url=/c39248]Yuuichirou's[/url] supervisor during his suspension. She is a sergeant of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army and the leader of her squad in the Moon Demon Company. 

She has a sarcastic attitude and doesn't put much emotion into her words. Shinoa is somewhat perverted and enjoys teasing others at any opportunity. She generally tends to smirk before teasing or performing her antics at others, putting them in uncomfortable situations. She keeps many secrets. Although Shinoa is inexperienced, she leads her squad well and remains levelheaded in battle.

Because of her circumstances with the Hiiragi family, Shinoa grew up without knowing what a sibling even is and never truly cared about anyone until her current squad was formed. She greatly respects Yuuichirou's resolve and feelings toward his family and wants to help him.

### Hyakuya Mikaela (百夜 ミカエラ)
The deuteragonist of the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign manga series. Mikaela is a vampire who is part of [url=/c40805]Ferid Bathory's[/url] Faction. He was turned into a vampire against his will by Third Progenitor [url=/c40803]Krul Tepes[/url]. He, along with [url=/c39248]Yuuichirou[/url] and a few others, possesses the seraph gene, which is relevant to the forbidden taboo and a focal point of the story Seraph of the End.

When Mikaela was a child, his parents abused him. Eventually, they "grew tired of him" and threw him from a moving vehicle. Since he possessed the seraph gene, the Hyakuya orphanage picked him up afterward. He was one of the children that was being experimented on by the religious Hyakuya Sect to create a weapon of mass destruction, as part of the "Seraph of the End" plan in destroying the world. 

As a human, Mika was kind and upbeat in spite of the harsh events in his childhood. He was able to keep smiling and be happy because of his adopted family at the orphanage. He always thought of his new family and was happy to buy ice cream for them. He was cheerful, feisty, and friendly and even managed to befriend the extremely stubborn Yuuichirou. He was a little violent and beat up Yuuichirou within seconds of meeting him. As the eldest child, he took charge and acted responsible for the other children.

However, after turning into a vampire 4 years ago, he comes to hate both vampires and humans. He hates vampires because of his history with them, and he hates humans for using and experimenting on Yuuichirou. As a self-loathing and moody vampire, Mikaela is a pale shadow of his former self. When [url=/c39898]Lacus[/url] asks him what he is, Mikaela answers that he is just an "ugly bloodsucker." He never smiles and always looks apathetic. Mikaela blames himself for the death of his family, and his sole reason for living is to save Yuuichirou. He keeps to himself and only has real conversations with Krul and Ferid, but refuses to interact with the other vampires as much as possible.

Similarly to when he is human, the vampire Mikaela cares about his family more than anything. As Yuuichirou is the only family he has left, Mikaela lives to save and protect him from both the vampires and the humans. Out of concern for Yuuichirou's hatred of vampires, he refuses to drink human blood and become a true vampire, preferring to remain dependent on Krul's blood. Despite the tremendous pain, blood lust, palpitations, and sheer agony of resisting the urge to drink human blood, he has kept control for four years.

### Kimizuki Shihou (君月 士方)
Shihou is one of the main characters and a member of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army as well as Hiiragi Shinoa's squad in the Moon Demon Company. 

His sister, Kimizuki Mirai, was infected by the Apocalypse Virus despite being a child. He joined the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, in order to gain their resources and use them to cure her.

He was one of the children that was being experimented on by the Hyakuya Sect to create a weapon of mass destruction, as part of the 'Seraph of the End' plan in destroying the world.

Like Yuu, he worked as part of Shibuya's Military Police until joining the Moon Demon Company. Sergeant Hiiragi Shinoa supervised Kimizuki through the same friendship-making routine in the regular classes as Yuu. He joined the Moon Demon Company class before Yuu arrived.

### Sanguu Mitsuba (三宮 三葉)
Mitsuba is a special duty second lieutenant of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army and a member of Shinoa Squad. She has been a member of the annihilation force ever since she was 13.

Mitsuba is shown to be a serious and by-the-book soldier, who dislikes those who break the formation and commit to individual action. She tends to have a fiery personality and may be the most talkative of the group. In her previous squad, she once broke the formation of her team in order to save a teammate, which lead to her squad's annihilation. This makes her value staying in formation and following the rules, which she enforces on the rookie soldiers below her.

She is proud and hates being promoted for doing nothing just because of her family name. She considers that to be a grave insult. She also felt insulted when assigned to work under Shinoa, but she quickly takes her place as second-in-command.

### Saotome Yoichi (早乙女 与一)
Yoichi is a member of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army as well as [url=/c39246]Shinoa Hiiragi's[/url] squad in the Moon Demon Company. Before her death, his sister forced Yoichi to hide under their bed in order to survive and was then killed by [url=/c39898]Lacus Welt[/url], while Yoichi was overcome by fear and watched this event happen in front of his eyes.

Like his sister, he was one of the children that was being experimented on by the Hyakuya Sect to create a weapon of mass destruction, as part of the "Seraph of the End" plan in destroying the world. 

Yoichi has an equilibrium of kindness and altruism, giving him an optimistic and sweet personality. This gives him a strong mental balance against his demon. However, he lacks strength and hates conflict. He wants neither his friends nor his family to die, but he doesn't want to kill anyone. Although he lacks the passion to exterminate vampires, he will do what it takes to protect his friends. He tends to be meek and stutters when he is most nervous. He is the peace-maker of the group and often tries to break up fights between [url=/c39252]Kimizuki[/url], [url=/c39248]Yuuichirou[/url], and/or [url=/c39249]Mitsuba[/url].

He feels guilty for his sister's death, but this motivation is not strong enough for him to overcome his demon. His true strength and motivation comes from wanting to protect his friends and new-found family.

### Asuramaru (阿修羅丸)
Asuramaru is a high-ranked demon of the Black Demon Series. He formed a contract with [url=/c39248]Yuuichirou Hyakuya[/url]  and became his Cursed Gear.

Asuramaru is a bloodthirsty demon who was originally a vampire. He delights in drinking Yuuichirou's blood and goes into a giddy high after Yuuichirou feeds it to him for the first time. As a possession-type demon, he is described as particularly nasty and aggressive. He also turns very happy when Yuuichirou turns for his help instead of the Seraph gene's.

Like all demons, he is manipulative and uses nightmares to consume the one he possesses in order to take over his host's body. At the beginning of the series, he interrupts his host's dreams every night, making Yuuichirou tired during the day.

After Yuuichirou loosens the curse on him and the two battle for dominance, Asuramaru eventually gives in to his compassion and submits to him. He also stops giving his host nightmares.

Even so, Asuramaru thinks of humans as vile, greedy creatures and says they are even worse than vampires and demons. He considers them to be taboo-breakers who will destroy the world. Although he is fully aware of Yuuichirou going insane on the battlefield and of the experimentation done on him, Asuramaru does not reveal any of these vital secrets to his host.

He considers angels to be disgusting.

### Crowley Eusford (クローリー・ユースフォード)

Crowleyis a thirteenth progenitor among vampires and a member of  [url=/c40805] Seventh Progenitor Ferid Bathory's[/url] faction, and one of the vampire nobles.

He is a calm and patient vampire who enjoys fighting any opponent. Even when he is in a tight spot, he remains calm with a pleasant smile, and when Ferid tells him he does not care if he lives or dies, he only looks mildly disappointed.

Whether things are interesting seems to be an important motive for Crowley's actions and movements. He joined Ferid Bathory's faction for this reason and while on the battlefield constantly, he exclaims when/if something impresses him with an almost childlike curiosity.

He has also displayed insight, noticing how fast humans are evolving and even deducing they can't have done it by themselves, which would mean a vampire has gone traitor. He discussed this with his aides Horn and Chess, whom he also warned about the weapons after testing the ability of one.

He has a clear set of mind considering humans and considers them nothing but livestock, he is willing to kill humans without hesitation and use them as bait to attract the more enemy soldiers.

Crowley is almost always in the company of his aides, Seventeenth Progenitor Horn Skuld and Seventeenth Progenitor Chess Belle.

He does not appear to be very susceptible to fear. Whether it is because he has yet to face a real threat in battle in the series or not is unknown. Crowley also does not seem to mind recognizing his enemies' abilities while in the battlefield.

### Ferid Bathory (フェリド・バートリー)

Ferid is a seventh progenitor among all the vampires. He is the one who killed [url=/c39248]Yuuichirou's[/url] family, thus fueling Yūichirō's desire for revenge against all vampires. 

Ferid is chatty, happy, enthusiastic, playful, and sneaky. He is often described as unpredictable. He often says things to incite someone's temper but then says he is just kidding. Ferid enjoys irritating [url=/c40803]Krul[/url] and [url=/c39561]Mikaela[/url] to a dangerous level, and he has a great deal of fun teasing Mika as well. He is infamous for his eccentric behavior and tends to cause "interesting" things to happen, according to [url=/c40806]Crowley[/url].

Ferid is self-serving and traitorous to serve his own ends, and he really appears to be assisting the humans somehow. He uses blackmail to stay Krul's hand when she desperately wants to see him dead.

On the outside, Ferid acts kind and polite. However, he keeps many secrets and tells many lies. He is sadistic and enjoys manipulating others in order to torment them. He immensely enjoys crushing the hopes of human children and watching their expressions become filled with despair. He says he wants to hear them scream. He prefers the blood of beautiful boys and girls. Regarding age, he claims the 16-year-old Mika is just barely within his preference range. He would like Mika to drink human blood and stop aging as soon as possible, and he frequently brings up the topic when he is alone with him..

Toward his own supporters, Ferid may say carelessly cruel things. His true objective is a mystery, even to his closest followers. He appears to be at work manipulating many things behind the scenes.

He considers the humans to be ugly, insatiable cowards. He also mocks the vampires' boundless arrogance.

Kureto is the Lieutenant General of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army and is expected to become the next leader of the Hiiragi Family as well as the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. His ambition is to exterminate vampires from Japan, and have the world under the control of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. 

Proud and powerful, Kureto doesn't tolerate any disrespect from lower-rank families. He is manipulative, ruthless and treacherous, and will not hesitate to abandon his comrades if he no longer finds them useful. In fact, he finds that being able to abandon your own friends as a 'strength'. He expects everyone to submit to him with absolute loyalty, and as such, is very confident with himself, his plans and his actions.

Kureto has an ambition of wiping out every vampire on the planet and intends to rule the world, stating that he will turn it into a "vampire-free paradise." He plans to gather every surviving country and unite them as one, making Japan the center of all nations (i.e. world domination).

Despite his harsh personality, he possesses a sense of self-righteousness and sees anyone who is willing to sacrifice others for pure greed and with no goal as evil.

Shinya is a major general of Moon Demon Company and the adoptive brother of [url=/c39246]Shinoa[/url]. Although he has high capacity of spellcraft from since childhood, Shinya is not comfortable about being with the Hiiragi's. However, he is good friends with [url=/c39591]Guren[/url] who also holds the same intention against them. 

Shinya is shown to be a very calm and somewhat gentle person, even when insulted or made fun of, especially compared to other members of the Hiiragi family. He warns [url=/c39248]Yuuichirou[/url] not to take what Kureto says at face value and dislikes picking on the weak.
He has been friends with Guren since their school days, and seems to enjoy picking on him, often by forcing Guren into awkward situations or simply annoying him.

### Ichinose Guren (一瀬 グレン)
Guren is a Lieutenant Colonel of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army and the commanding officer of the Vampire Extermination Unit's Moon Demon Company. He is also the one who saved [url=/c39248]Yuuichirou[/url] after his survival, and is some kind of a mentor to him as well. He teached him how to survive above ground, how to live in the Demon Army's cities, and how to use a sword. Unfortunately, he is less successful at teaching Yuuichirou obedience and subordination.

After finding Yuuichirou outside of Sanguem, the vampire city, Guren says that one of the lab rats from the Hyakuya laboratories, the company responsible for destroying Japan, is there just like the prophecy said. He tells him that he will be useful in exterminating vampires.

Guren is a wise leader who values teamwork and cooperation, determined to ensure the survival of the human race from demons and vampires. When Yuuichirou tried to join the Moon Demon Company, Guren refused to allow him to join until he made friends.

He pretends to be lazy, but he actually works hard and keeps many secrets, which he has no difficulty lying about. He plans to dethrone the Hiiragi Family. He cares about his subordinates and friends, considering them to be family even before and after the apocalypse started.

Mito is the classic tsundere Ojou-sama. She is well-bred, gets riled up easily, and is attentive to etiquette and station. She is also quite stubborn. Despite being part of Guren's personal squad, she refuses to recognize his leadership. Due to the prestige of the house, since she was young, Mito had never been treated by the people around her like a normal girl, until she met Guren. While Guren frequently frustrated her with his snide comments and jokes, she developed an unrequited crush on him due to the refreshing treatment.

Krul is the third progenitor among the vampires and the vampire queen in Japan. She is also the only vampire who shows him kindness, and there are several moments when she hugs him or treats him gently. 

Just like all other vampires (minus Mikaela), she views the humans as nothing more than livestock. She sees them as foul and endlessly greedy creatures who will do anything for their own personal gain. Krul keeps many secrets, including what she knows of the "seraph of the end," and she is deceitful toward the Progenitor Council about her criminal activities. Like most vampires, she is proud. As a third progenitor and the queen of Japan, she has reason to be and the power to back it up. When Third Progenitor Lest Karr challenges her position as the ruler of Japan, she becomes angry and claims she never fails, ever. She is temperamental when challenged and does not hesitate to remind her challenger of his/her place.

Lacus is the vampire who killed [url=/c39251]Yoichi Saotome's[/url] sister, Tomoe Saotome by drinking too much of her blood before dropping her on the floor.

Like all vampires, he sees humans as mere livestock and even laughed at the humans who thought that the vampires came to protect them. He says vampires do not protect livestock but rather own them. He has difficulty restraining his thirst and tends to drink so much blood that the human dies.

Lacus tries repeatedly to get Mika to open up or speak. He is concerned about Mika refusing to drink blood directly from humans when he can, although he is not aware that Mika has yet to ever drink any human blood at all. He appears to care about Mika in spite of Mika's constant rejections toward any kind of friendship.
