She isn't very fluent in Japanese so she uses a message board to commmunicate with her teammates instead of talking (though she is shown to know simple words of the language). Aislinn is constantly smiling and even hums while walking towards her match. She was rather devastated thinking she let her team down when she lost her match. There's nothing flashy nor anything that stands out about her game but according to Shiromi, Aislinn can draw her ideal table like something from a dream. Whenever she plays she always gets a winning hand and in terms of winning percentage she was first in her country. Coming from a small village with very few people, she learned to play Mahjong by setting up the tiles and watching matches from TV, as it was the only fun she could have. Toyone has several abilities relating to the rokuyou, which are six days in the Japanese calendar that have specific circumstances determining whether they are lucky or unlucky. One of her abilities is Tomobiki, which allows her to pair her final tile after making four calls (in mahjong terms, a naked wait.) However she is kind to all of her teammates and cheers them on. Despite what her personality suggests, she is not so prideful as to prevent herself from playing into a much weaker hand to avoid giving more points to other players. Hiroe uses traps and bluffs to trick her opponents into playing into her hand. She can also anticipate her opponents' hands very accurately. This makes her a very efficient player, and she can accumulate points very quickly. She has played online mahjong since a young girl and develops a eventually passion for it. Her father, who works as an attorney, disapproves of Nodoka's interest but does not prohibit it. Because of her mother's work assignment, her family usually moves to a different city every two to three years. She moves to Nara Prefecture prior to her final year in elementary school and soon enters Achiga Girls' Academy for middle school. She was the previous year's National Middle School Individual Champion. Nodoka always carries her penguin plushie due to [url=/c35287]Hisa's[/url] recommendation in their first training camp, affectionately named Etopen, to give her a sense of calmness when playing mahjong. Her opponents have observed that she makes makes the most complex decisions within a split second and rarely makes mistakes in her plays, if ever. While holding Etopen, she can go into "Nodocchi Mode" even outside digital Mahjong, but this is also her weakness: she views the current game as a digital game, regardless of whether or not it actually is; this allows her to completely ignore the presence of her opponents, for better or worse. She begins making decisions very quickly and can confuse players who sense their opponent's tenpai, as she seems to play like a robot, not a person. Since she couldn't be the vessel for all nine of her goddess spirits, Kasumi, being her closest blood relative, had to be the vessel for one of them, which happens to be an evil goddess. She likes being a comedian, especially when she interacts with Kyoutarou Suga. espite being a first year in high school, Yuuki is very child-like. She seems to be obsessed with Nodoka's large breasts and wants larger ones herself. She is flirtatious towards [url=/c42936]Kyoutarou[/url]; whether this is because of an actual attraction or because she likes to poke fun is unknown. She is also protective of her friends: during the nationals when the media says that the Nagano prefecture has been dropping in power, she gets angry because she feels that they are making fun of her friends and she vows to make them pay. While waiting for her turn, she has a habit of leaning all the way back in her chair. Whenever she starts contemplating on something, she likes to either bite her finger or put one of her hands over an eye. Despite her apathetic exterior, Shiromi is very warmhearted and fond of her friends, offering them support and comfort when needed. According to her teammates, Shiromi has a unique style. When she worries about her hand, it usually means that it's high scoring and she normally scores her points this way. She tends to slowly build her hand without opening it or calling riichi, leading to a distinctive play style. When originally discovered by Kiyosumi's club, she was notorious for her ability to finish plus/minus 0, essentially finishing with the same score she started with (+/- 400 points). When Saki was little, she played mahjong with her family. If she lost, she would lose her allowance, so she learnt how to not lose; if she won too much, her parents get angry, so she learnt how to not win too much. Through this, she developed a dislike of mahjong, seeing it as only a formality for her family to get angry with her. Her main ability is rinshan kaihou, or winning off of a tile taken from the dead wall after calling kan. It can even go to the extend that she can call multiple kans off of the dead well en route to the win. Outside of using her abilities, her gameplay tends to be rather quiet. However, she appears to get a handle on the flow of any particular game, thus allowing her to make use of her ability. Saki is a shy, bookish girl with a poor sense of direction. At first, despite her skills, she doesn't like mahjong, in particular because of her family. She is very caring about her friends' feelings, as seen when she loses on purpose to [url=/c34911]Yuuki[/url] to make her feel better and stops doing so because [url=/c34908]Nodoka[/url] says that she cannot have fun if Saki is holding back. Saki gets very excited when thinking about playing against strong competition. Saki also has the ability to recognize the tiles that can form a kan. As a result of this, she picks up her peculiar speech manner and more importantly her special ability; she also received her glasses from him. Nicknamed "Spindle Territory", it allows her to memorize games she has seen or played in so as to be able to recall them in similar situations. She utilizes this when she takes her glasses off. Mako is a reliable person and a trusting friend, being the only person that [url=/c35287]Hisa[/url] shows her doubts to. She is often snarky when she speaks to Hisa. She was very close to her grandpa growing up and has adopted some of his personality, like the way he speaks. She uses the dialect from Hiroshima prefecture because of his influence. She is the president of the mahjong club, as well as the student congress president (she keeps insisting others to refer to her as this). Her history is a bit shady as when she was younger, she went by the name of Hisa Ueno and during a tournament (in which she played with [url=/c35500]Mihoko[/url]), she mysteriously withdrew despite being near the top of the leaderboard. Outside of an important competition, Hisa sticks to playing a rational style of mahjong, much like [url=//c34908]Nodoka[/url]. However, during key moments in such tournaments, she relies on bad waits because she feels that she always wins with them. She likewise believes that there is a meaning to each tile you grab, utilizing the flow of the game, and changes her hand accordingly. Although not as skilled as [url=/c35295]Jun[/url] at sensing flow, she still has a very good grasp on it, and picks her moments to declare riichi and win. Hisa is shown to be a great leader both while playing mahjong and outside of it. Hisa is very caring for her underclassmen like when she comforts [url=/c34911]Yuuki[/url] after her defeat in the prefectural tournament. She has good foresight and can be very scheming. It was also thanks to her planning that Tsuruga was able to make it to the championship round of the prefectural tournament. First she imposes a han restriction on herself the moment she opens her hand, such as 2 han or 3 han, then she must place her tiles face-down before opening them again. If she wins with that hand with that amount, or higher, then Himeko will win that same round with double the han she set. If she doesn't win then Himeko will almost never win and if she does it's likely to only be worth 1 han; if Mairu wins with more han than the amount she set, Himeko cannot use the extra han.
