## Description
[Toono Shiki](/c72) hears of a new series of murders in Misaki similar to the ones that took place in [Tsukihime](/v7). Whilst searching for the murderer he meets [Sion Eltnam Atlasia](/c84) who initiates a fight with him, attempting to capture him. After the fight she reveals that her reason for attempting to capture him is to get in contact with the "True Ancestor" (referring to [Arcueid Brunestud](/c74)) so that she may acquire information on the "cure for vampirism". Shiki then decides to help her with this task.

Melty Blood is a 2D fighting game. The first couple of PC releases (up to Re-ACT) had visual novel style story modes with multiple endings and a secondary story mode in the arcade mode. Later versions (from Act Cadenza onwards) do not have proper story modes like previous incarnations, but they add more characters.

Sion is an alchemist of Atlas, one of the three main branches of the Mages Association. She is a genius scientist, given a position equal to the representative of ATLAS at an extremely young age. Although she is usually calm and calculating, always striving for perfection, she is actually quite emotional and extremely easy to set off.

### Toono Shiki (遠野 志貴)
Shiki is a kind, honest, if not slightly playful second-year high school student. He is anemic and is prone to fainting, but he tries his best to live a normal life.

He has the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, allowing him to see the "Lines" and "Points" that enable him to kill all things using the highly effective assassination techniques hidden in his subconscious. Despite being constantly surrounded by death he has a greater appreciation for life than most people and would never take a human life.

### Arcueid Brunestud (アルクェイド・ブリュンスタッド)
Arcueid is a vampire hunting others of her kind. She "convinces" [url=/c72]Shiki[/url] to help her deal with the vampire in the town as she used up most of her power because of him.

Arcueid is shown to be a whimsical individual who, although knowing the basics of the modern era, does not seem to know about social norms. Her behaviour is almost child-like, due to the lonely nature of her up bringing, although she is over 800 years old, she spent most of it asleep and knows nearly nothing about the world or how to interact with others.

### Dust of Osiris (オシリスの砂)
Dust of Osiris is a potential future version of Sion Eltnam Atlasia created by Wallachia from remnants of her soul. She is known as the 13th of the 27 Ancestors of Dead Apostles. She has no ego nor emotions and behaves more like computer, always busy with calculations and recalculations. Dust of Osiris tries to recreate the "Hologram Summer" from the previous year, destroy the future and keep an eternal record, as she believes there is no future for the mankind anyway.

### Kishima Kouma (軋間 紅摩)

### Len (レン)

### Mech-Hisui (メカヒスイ)
Mech-Hisui is a heavily armed robot created by Kohaku in the image and likeness of Hisui. It has become possible only after TATARI's intervention, though.
Mech-Hisui is emotionless most of the time, but in the end it didn't stop her from rebelling against Dr. Kohaku and gain some Skynet-like ambitions.

One day a fate will bind him with White Len through the strange kind of relationships.

### Neco-Arc (ネコアルク)
Neco-Arc is a member of the NEKO Spirit race, originating from the Great Cat's Village. It's either a materialization of TATARI or the guest from another world brought here by Zelretch, as well as the mascot character of Type-Moon.
She speaks with the catlike accent and likes to play on the nerves of others. Even her appearance frightens certain characters.

Present in Tsukihime Remake, but only in After Bad End scenes.

Even after resurrecting as another materialization of TATARI, she's still hasn't been absorbed by it, thanks to her Holy Shield, Gamaliel.

Ryougi Shiki was born in the family of demon hunters. She's a girl who possesses the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception (similar to Toono Shiki's), a supernatural ability that allows her to see the "lines of death" on any living or non-living object.
Ryougi assists the "Garan no Dou" agency run by Aozaki Touko, helping to handle the paranormal cases when combat is required.

### Toono Akiha (遠野 秋葉)
Born into the prestigious Toono family, Akiha lived a sheltered childhood. Thanks to her brother [url=/c72]Shiki[/url] she was able to experience at least some semblance of the joys of childhood. Unfortunately not soon afterwards, Shiki was near-fatally wounded in an accident and was sent by Makihisa to live with the Arimas, relatives from another branch of the family. ### Michael Roa Valdamjong (ミハイル・ロア・バルダムヨォン)
A numberless Dead Apostle that Arcueid is searching for. He was a priest who sought immortality and was able to obtain it through reincarnation. [spoiler]He tricked Arcueid into drinking his blood, therefore making him a vampire.[/spoiler] He is an antagonist in most routes of the game. Roa was taught a Reality Marble known as "The Soil of Genesis" which can only be destroyed with something that has a destructive power of something that can destroy a continent. It functions as some kind of cage or restraining device.
His original body was finally defeated by a coalition composed of Arcueid and the Church's Burial Agency, and he has been re-incarnating ever since then. By the time of Tsukihime he had already re-incarnated seventeen times and had been destroyed by Arcueid each time as she seeks to gain her stolen power back, and perhaps to achieve some measure of revenge. Roa has two requirements for choosing the host of his next reincarnation: the host's family must have a high social standing so that he would be born into luxury, and a body with high magical potential and perhaps unique latent powers. [spoiler]His last host was Ciel, who was chosen in haste and thus was born into a bakery's family but in exchange had a body with an extremely high magical potential that was relatively close to that of his original form.[/spoiler] In Tsukihime, Roa is responsible for the grisly vampire murders throughout the city.
