## Description
The protagonist, Touya Kagari, is a resident of Shin Yokozaki City and a sophomore at the prestigious Hakuou North Academy. An earnest and responsible young man, Touya appears to be no more than your average high school student.

While returning from his part-time job, he heard a mysterious sound coming from the depths of the Restricted Ward, an area off-limits to unauthorized personnel due to a horrible disaster that happened there ten years ago…
His curiosity having gotten the best of him, Touya ventured ever deeper into the ruins of the ward, eventually coming across a man who appeared to be gravely injured. Concerned, Touya rushed to his side, asking if he was okay and if he needed any help.
But as Touya approached, the man suddenly stood up and attacked, screaming, "You're an enemy!"

And in the midst of invisible ringing bells, psychotic strangers, exploding walls of flame, and almost certain death, a small, cute girl with an enormous sword came charging in…
And despite her frilly, fragile appearance, her battle prowess was beyond reason or doubt. The name of Touya’s savior was Es, a soldier belonging to the Mitsurugi Agency.

Yanked from the comfort of his everyday life, Touya was forced head-long into a world where the threat of death was everywhere and even allies could be his downfall…

### Kagari Touya (篝 橙八)
Touya Kagari is the protagonist of XBlaze – Code: Embryo. He is second-year student of class B. He currently resides with the Himezuru family and worked at Maha☆Raja~ Curry Shop as a part-time job until the store mysteriously closed. He has a very curious and gentle personality and goes out of his way to resolve any fights around him, even if it results in personal injury to himself (This, however, may stem from the single memory of his mother telling him to "Protect".). He also has a strong sense of obligation, such as the fact that he believes that his mother (and possibly he himself) was at fault for a large incident that occurred which resulted in his only survival, and is therefore responsible for "repenting" in some way. He eventually hardens up as time passes, and even opens up Es to an emotional perspective.

### Amanohokosaka Mei (天ノ矛坂 冥)

Mei Amanohokosaka is one of the characters in XBlaze – Code: Embryo and a descendant of the Azure Shrine Maiden, protecting the Wadatsumi area for generations to prevent the resurrection of the Black Beast. Her parents were present at the Wadatsumi Mass Vanish Incident, where  her mother disappeared and her father had his soul drained but his body was still left intact. Mei has a huge distrust and hate for the Magic Guild after they attempted to bring down the Amanohokosaka family by making them lose money and trust.

Personality-wise, Mei is hostile to all she meets. She is extremely hostile towards Kuon due to her being from the Magic Guild. However, this usual hostility that is presented to everyone can usually be avoided by presenting excellent manners, and treating Mei as a pampered princess. Yet, despite this hostility, she and Kuon overcome their differences bonding over their tragedies of having lost a parent. The both of them argue constantly, but they remain firm friends despite this. Like many a teenager, Mei frequently blogs, and has been known to use text speech when updating her TOi; on top of this, she is an avid anime watcher, and is critical of what others watch, suggesting that Kuon watches 'B-tier slice-of-life crap'. Underneath her hypercritical attitude, Mei is secretly quite caring of those around her, especially with family - effectively surrendering her freedom to the whims of the Mitsurugi Agency just so her family could live on. When angered, Mei has been known to swear in a colorful manner.

[spoiler]In her route, she develops the Drive Blood Cain. She later rose to become the leader of the Amanohokosaka Clan.[/spoiler]

Es is one of the main characters in XBlaze – Code: Embryo and a playable character in the console version of Blazblue: Central Fiction. Es is a member of the Mitsurugi Agency, tasked with hunting down the Drive-Infected Patient's so they could be treated for their unfortunately terminal condition. Emotionless, steady, and objective focused. 
Es is the perfect soldier, her mission always comes first. When she first met Touya Kagari, she did not care for him or any other person, being willing to hurt and even kill others that she was 'friends' with just so she could complete a mission. If Es did not understand a term, mainly because of the informality or colloquial speech, then she would forwardly ask what said term means, leading to unique, and awkward situations. For a time, she possessed no opinions due to her little interaction with people outside of the Agency, as well as this, Es possessed a habit of taking things too literally, annoying Touya as he put up with her awkward social tendencies.
[spoiler]Es is actually a Manifest Boundary Contact Prime Field Device, and her real name is Embryo Storage (エンブリオストレージ). Her actual age is only 5, and she was developed at the time of her sister units' and creator's death.[/spoiler]
[spoiler]Es wields one of the legendary Legacy Weapons – Vow Crystal Seal Blade: Murakumo. Her skills with the blade are awe-inspiring, being able to deflect multitudes of shrapnel being launched at her by Akio Osafune. On top of this, Es is strong enough to survive a multitude of blows dealt by the physically impressive Drei. Adding to her physical abilities, Es has an abnormally fast reaction time, coupled with impressive speed; she was able to even catch up to Ripper. Even unarmed, she possessed enough strength to easily lift and carry Touya Kagari a considerable distance without fatigue. Because of her blank expressions and apparent lack of emotions, even Ripper's taunting could not provoke her, proving her to be incapable of panicking and losing the psychological advantage.[/spoiler]

Kuon is one of the main characters in XBlaze – Code: Embryo. An apprentice at the Magic Guild of the Magister's City: Ishana, Kuon is a daughter of the infamously powerful Stroheim family, it's believed that because of her potential strength in the magical arts, that she will be the first in line to earn the privilege to become one of the Ten Sages; something that has not been seen in a very long time. After the murder of her father by her brother Sechs, the elders of the Magic Guild instructed her to go to New Yokozaki City to hunt him down and bring him to justice, giving her the Legacy Weapon, Sealed Spear: Izayoi in order to do the deed.

Kuon is a very hot-headed young woman. She has no tolerance for any form of malfeasance and will often try to become a white knight to those in need, of which often lands her in trouble. As well as this, she has a legendary temper, leading to her moniker; "Fire Empress Stroheim".

Even though she is somewhat hot-headed, Kuon is a bright young woman with an intelligent head on her shoulders. She has good classical knowledge, easily recognizing a butchered quote from Augustus Caesar, and suggesting that a quote from Caligula would have been better.

A considerable threat in combat, Kuon's magical prowess is beyond that of the average mage, having developed considerable mastery over the element of fire. On top of her mastery of fire, Kuon can form barriers, and wards. She is also perceptively keen, being able to detect details quicker than other characters in the cast.

One of the main antagonists of Code: Embryo and a member of the Ten Sages. Devoted to Sechs, Acht is a confident young woman who is a master of manipulation. Despite being enemies with Kuon and several others, she often gives them helpful advice when they prove their combat prowess to her. She hates the weak and those that whine, finding Touya in particular to be extremely annoying. If someone had thoroughly annoyed her, she would attempt to kill them with her magic; something she is cockily confident in.

Her love for Japanese culture extends to her having a longing for travelling all around it. She is praised for her perfect grades, earnest behaviour, and hard work, being a sensible worker with impeccable manners. She does have childish quirks, however, being likely to do immature acts for Kuon's attention, even though she generally has it to begin with.

Touya's friend who is in a different class than him. His parents live abroad and he has been living on his own since the end of junior high. He is rich and good looking, but he is easily flattered and is known for being "unfortunately handsome". Despite his good looks and wealth, he is a social pariah due to his personality. 

Generally acting as the comedy relief, Akira has bouts of jealously towards Touya and his ever-growing group of females. Despite this comedic personality and ability to be easily flattered, he has a serious underside, showing no fear to a gang of thugs threatening to assault him. Like Touya, he isn't a fan of violence, but he dislikes being seen as weak.

The major antagonist of Code: Embryo. An insane sadistic serial killer, he has murdered a large number of people and disposed of them haphazardly and is known for being an SS-ranked criminal. More crazed and psychopathic than one could believe, Ripper is nothing short of twisted and sadistic. Despite possessing a Crystal and being utterly devoid of any positive emotion, Ripper is fully mentally capable, being clearly able to devise cunning strategies to give him an advantage in combat. Ripper only gets any real joy out of his opponents helplessness and scared emotions, and in order to help strike fear and panic into his prey's hearts, he also possesses multiple bombs that are molotov-like in their design as they ignite the area around them.

One of the main antagonists of Code: Embryo and one of the Ten Sages. A Magician with the title of 6 in the Ten Sages, Sechs is a magical genius who was chosen to be a Saint at the mere age of 18. He has a vast amount of skills and his knowledge in the fields of magic are incredible; he is well known for being one of the first to explore magic-induced gravity fields, with not a single person being able to master the field besides him.

Cold, mysterious, and unreadable. No one can tell what Sechs is thinking, being silent and keeping all he can to himself. He rarely speaks, even to his fellow Sages, and when he does, each word is filled with a passively strong tone that gives off a sense of wisdom and enlightenment. Sechs demonstrates a small amount of cockiness and self-worth, and finds that he is above fighting with some individuals, but doesn't wish to dirty his hands.

Souichirou is the director of Mitsurugi Agency Shin-Yokohama's seventh laboratory branch, and the one who gives direct orders to both [url=/c28595]Mei[/url] and [url=/c20281]Es[/url]. Eccentric and big-headed, Souichirou's real motives have always remained a mystery to everyone who knows him. After the loss of his parents, he developed a dangerous philosophy about humans and how they work, although few could tell because of his bizarre persona. He often introduces himself with an odd title, usually to do with being the 'patron Saint of children'. He is also a hypocrite of his own beliefs: while he states everything he does is for the sake of humanity, he shows a total lack of empathy for them.
